Contract Specialist

ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a dedicated Contract Specialist who will play a critical role in supporting our growth by providing contract management, support and guidance to various stakeholders across Benchling.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- Report directly to the Head Deal Desk
- Review, revise, and in some cases negotiate various contracts (MSAs, SLAs, SOWs, NDAs, etc) in support of Benchling’s sales organization and other business units
- Administrate an internal contract review system. Manage the contract management and review processes for the company’s agreements globally
- Partner with revenue accounting, sales operations and other relevant teams to ensure agreements are consistent with internal policies and processes
- Assist with setting standard form agreements and legal processes, while helping set guidelines for deal-specific customizations
ABOUT YOU
- Have at least 5 years of legal experience in a Contract Manager/Analyst or similar role in a technology-focused company (required)
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in related discipline (required). JD degree preferred.
- Gained solid experience reading and analyzing RFPs, drafting and editing various SaaS agreements, and communicating legal terms to counterparties.
- Are able to partner with several cross-functional teams
- Can explain complex concepts in a clear, succinct and concrete way
- Can manage deadlines and deal with ambiguity and change
- Experience working in the Life Sciences industry is a plus
- Experience with contract management platforms and processes is a plus.
