We are looking for an exceptional paralegal to be a key teammate to the legal operations team directly supporting the corporate and commercial teams. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of corporate and commercial matters.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Assist with intake of legal department and team emails, providing first-line advice and triage of inbound requests.
  • Assist with maintenance of corporate records and the entity management system.
  • Assist with qualifications, annual reports and other corporate updates with secretary of state offices for domestic Coinbase entities.
  • Coordinate internal director and officer signatures on various domestic state filings, international filings and corporate documents.
  • Work cross-functionally with other stakeholders to complete and maintain the integration of our contract management system.
  • Maintain records as it relates to templates, working files and executed agreements.
  • Respond to diligence and contractual requests.
  • Coordinate across the legal department consistent documentation retention practices and assist with the development and maintenance of any policies relating thereto.
  • Support teams with other projects or tasks on an as-needed basis.

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years experience as a paralegal, either at a major law firm or in-house.
  • At least two years of demonstrated responsibility for and success with:
    • providing support on global company contract management and entity management systems
    • record keeping for global corporate structure
    • direct communications with clients
  • Exceptional professional judgment, ideally exercised in a startup environment.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to execute under pressure and within tight timelines while juggling multiple projects.
  • Highest level of accuracy, superb attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills.
  • Ability to process highly confidential data and maintain discretion.
  • A self-starter with enthusiasm, who can work independently with minimal oversight on certain projects but who is also a team player and can support on projects when needed.

Nice to haves:

  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Google Drive, Gmail, Google Calendar), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel) and Adobe Pro DC.
  • Familiarity with DocuSign CLM, Diligent Entities, Jira and Slack or other related software systems.
  • Experience with technology companies (ideally Fintech) whether as clients while at a law firm or as an employer.
