We’re looking for an experienced, business-minded strategic General Counsel to drive strategy, partner with the executive team, and drive the company’s IPO readiness process.
As our General Counsel, you will lead our global legal function. You will be responsible for providing hands-on guidance on legal issues arising out of multiple jurisdictions and on risk mitigation strategies, as well as enforcing policies and regulations across the business.

Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic legal advice to the leadership team and Board of Directors.
- Oversee and develop our legal strategy around product, corporate, regulatory, and commercial opportunities.
- Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives; you will oversee recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of legal staff.
- Anticipate and identify legal issues and counsel officers and management on risk mitigation strategies.
- Develop and manage annual legal budget and perform cost and productivity analyses.
- A minimum of 15+ years of experience practicing law with a combination of law firm and in-house experience
- Previous General Counsel experience at a pre-IPO or public tech company; Experience managing and building out the legal and compliance functions at a fast-growing Enterprise Software Company would be a plus
- Experience leading companies through the IPO process, financing, global expansion, and M&A transactions
- JD from an accredited law school and admitted to practice in AND in good standing in California
- Collaborative team player with no ego, coupled with an outstanding ability to communicate in plain English and partner efficiently cross-functionally at all levels

- Ability and desire to roll up your sleeves and do the day-to-day tactical work while delivering on strategic matters
- Ability to supervise and train employees, including organizing, prioritizing, scheduling work assignments, and control external spend
Redis Labs is continuing to hire with all interviews, and onboarding is done virtually due to COVID-19. To ensure our employees’ safety, employment at Redis Labs would be fully remote until further notice from the local governments. While many of our roles have the flexibility to stay remote, this position will require to be present in our Mountain View, CA office once it re-open.
