Productiv is looking for a Head of Legal to guide our scaling motion for GTM, build a global expansion strategy, help scale our company, and manage outside counsel relationships. You will be essential to the successful and scalable growth of our company as we enter our phase of expansion. If you are passionate about playing a critical part of the growth of a company, and partnering closely with the executive team - this is the role for you. You will report into our COO, and partner closely with finance and operations as we scale.

You Will:

• Scale GTM Motion
• Diligently manage sales and vendor contracts - managing trade off between speed and risk; applying experience, iterating on terms in partnership with the business, and building an efficient system with pre approved terms
• Develop regulation and Data Privacy and Security posture, policies and trainings, assist with Fedramp and other government contract matters
• Partner on Business Expansion
• Establish strategy for new market entry including perspective on location and timing, entity creation and management, employment law, and other considerations
• Risk Management: Proactively identify areas of risk across the business and develop mitigation strategies in partnership with the business
• Protect Innovation and the company’s brand
• Develop and scale the Company’s legal processes around patents, open source, and trade secrets
• Partner with team on brand and trademarks strategy
• Proactively jump in to solve business problems
• Willingness and motivation to assist on other legal matters in variety of areas as they arise, based on interest and experience, such as marketing review, employment law, open source, compliance/policy development, and corporate governance and equity management
• Manage outside counsel and build team over time, as needed

You Have:

• Juris Doctorate degree from a U.S. accredited law school. Licensed to practice law in the State of California.
• 8+ years of experience working in tech or adjacent fields, 2+ years in management/leadership preferred.
• Experience managing sales and vendor contracts, in partnership with company leadership
• Knowledge of global expansion including international employment, entity laws and best practices
• Experience leading projects with team members
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment and providing practical, business-first guidance under tight deadlines
• You take ownership of process by identifying areas for improvement
• A passion for technology and ability to understand complex technology and product use cases quickly
