Legal Assistant
You’ll join our Legal Team reporting to the VP of Legal and you will be a driving force behind the success of the legal department. The Legal Assistant will create and improve processes, maintain records, conduct legal research, and coordinate communications across the team. Responsibilities include reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts; responding to internal requests and inquiries for legal guidance on a variety of matters; creating and maintaining trackers for legal documents and resources; and providing support for ad hoc legal projects. You will work closely with many teams across NextRoll on projects ranging from contract review and administration, to privacy compliance assistance, marketing review, corporate governance and general administrative responsibilities. We are looking for someone with attention to detail, ability to apply good judgment, organizational skills, business savvy and a knack for the big picture.
This role is open in our San Francisco, New York, Salt Lake City offices, or Remote.

The impact you’ll make:
- Oversee and triage legal requests received through the Legal Zendesk queue and field internal legal questions from our business teams
- Manage form agreements and high volume contract documentation
- Review and process various standard contracts including NDAs, Order Forms, Terms of Service, and vendor agreements
- Help establish processes to document compliance with contractual obligations
- Maintain efficient legal filing system and handle retention of electronic and paper documents
- Maintain the legal team calendar and email mailboxes and handle responses to requests, such as subpoenas and data subject requests
Skills you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- 1+ years experience of total policy, legal, and/or operations experience, preferably with in-house high-growth start-up experience
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion; excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Google Docs/Sheets, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Devotion to detail and organization; process-oriented
- Courage to take initiative, address problems, and make continuous process improvements - learning new things is exciting to you, and you are willing to “roll-up-your-sleeves” and help where needed
