Legal Operations Specialist
About the roleÂ
As a Specialist of Legal Operations, you will help build our legal operations team for the Legal department. You are central to the Legal department’s operational excellence and efficiency. You will help manage the Legal department’s finances, vendors and outside counsel spend, technology solutions, knowledge management and document management tools. You create and improve processes, maintain records, and coordinate communications between the Legal department and other Chimers, including cross-functional partners in Finance, Risk and beyond. You’re an independent thinker who asks questions, a self starter and do it yourself, and you’re organized and attuned to details. In this role, you can expect toÂ
- Design and manage processes to positively impact the Legal & Compliance team’s efficiency and effectiveness (including finances, knowledge management and contracts).
- Manage all third party vendor relationships for the department.
- Help organize team meetings, off-sites, and learning and development programs.
- Assist as needed with other legal matters for both internal clients and external parties.
- Effectively manage law firms, lead and manage RFPs and pricing negotiations.
- Work proactively with Finance, Accounting & Financial Planning teams on budget to accurately forecast needs and spend.
- Train the Legal department and the broader organization on legal processes and procedures (e.g. new hire on-boarding training, new software or process rollout).
- Support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives and report out on progress.
- Primary administrator for the Legal department’s technology solutions and project management.
- Ensure effective documentation and accessibility of organizational knowledge.
To thrive in this role, you have       Â
- A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience and 5+ years paralegal or legal operations experience.
- A strong analytical and organizational skills.
- The ability to be flexible and self-directed in a fast paced environment with limited direction.
- The ability to balance competing priorities and manage several time-sensitive projects at once.
- An excellent judgment, discretion, interpersonal skills and highly team-oriented.
- Prior experience developing forms, processes, policies, FAQs, etc.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and using legal department technology solutions.
