Senior Counsel (US - Remote)

Who We’re Looking For:
DISQO is seeking for an outstanding, seasoned, and versatile Senior Counsel. This role is a crucial part of DISQO, focusing on privacy, strategic contract negotiations and drafting in the U.S. and internationally, corporate governance, and compliance within a high-growth, dynamic, mission-driven technology company.
The Senior Counsel will also serve as a trusted partner across departments, working with senior leaders in the company to develop and implement scalable programs and processes. They will play a key role in structuring, drafting, negotiating general commercial agreements (such as SaaS, vendor, and other technology services agreements), resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, providing guidance on a broad range of issues (including data privacy and security, marketing, employment, mergers and acquisitions, public company matters, and procurement), as well as advising on legal issues spanning the breadth of DISQO’s products and services,
What You Get To Do:
•Support consumer privacy initiatives, such as those related to GDPR, CCPA, and COPPA, including the management of a worldwide privacy program for both end user facing services and clients
•Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of policies, forms, trainings, and processes to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with US, European, and other international laws, and regulations
•Work on significant and essential programs and transactions such as privacy, regulatory and compliance, U.S. and international business partnerships, and corporate governance matters
•Develop creative solutions to support business needs while mitigating risk in a constantly evolving industry and with complex and evolving legal regulations
•Draft, review, and negotiate master subscription agreements with enterprise and midmarket customers and work closely with our Sales organization to close revenue deals
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams and serve as a key point of contact to provide legal support for all aspects of the business
•You will support our growing revenue team, have a passion for all things privacy laws, counsel product development and negotiate vendor agreements
•Provide counseling to Product, Engineering, Marketing and Security teams on issues related to new and existing products and documentation
•Draft and negotiate contracts, including strategic partnership agreements, with the ability to solve problems effectively and efficiently in a business-friendly manner and fast-paced environment
•Be a trusted advisor and business partner for the executive team by providing counsel and guidance
•Work in collaboration with individual team members to identify and establish quotas, goals, KPI’s and OKR management
•Ensure contract terms and conditions are consistent with internal policies and goals
What You Bring To The Role:
•At least 7 years of relevant experience as in-house counsel and/or with a major law firm in a specialized practice area, such as intellectual property or privacy law
•Entrepreneurial mindset with a proven track record of personal success and ambitious undertakings
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to map innovative and clear solutions to complex problems while managing multiple projects
•You thrive in challenging environments where priorities shift frequently
•Ability to operate effectively in both tactical and strategic capacities -- you can comfortably adjust your altitude and roll-up your sleeves as needed
•You have outstanding organizational and project management abilities with strong attention to detail, including experience developing implementation roadmaps and processes within a matrixed organization
•Able to work independently, managing priorities, and maintain communication with stakeholders.
•Superior communication, presentation, and material preparation skills required, with the ability to influence others and convey complex ideas in a way that is easy to consume
•Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements for clients, partners, and vendors
•Current license to practice law in a U.S. state, preferably California
•Experience supporting internal compliance programs
