Job Title: Senior Manager, Legal – Export & Trade Compliance Counsel

Role: We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional to join our Compliance and Ethics team as its Export and Trade Compliance Counsel primarily responsible for the development and maintenance of ServiceNow’s Export and Trade Compliance function.
What you get to do in this role: The job responsibilities include but not limited to the below:
Manage the Company’s global export and trade compliance policies and processes
Develop operational procedures and practices that are compliant with applicable export and trade laws and regulations and internal corporate policies and procedures
Implement and enforce standard operating procedures globally, reflective of regional and local differences in export and customs laws, regulations, and practices
Establish clear processes for handling export and import licensing, trade authorization, and other requests and requirements
Negotiate and advise on export and trade related clauses for a wide variety of agreements, including related to sales, partners, alliances, and vendors; and provide trainings and playbooks for such
Work closely with other internal groups to assist with their screening processes to help manage risks
Oversee vendors and other 3rd parties related to import and export activities (e.g., denied parties screening service providers, import/export customs brokers or agents, outside export/trade counsel)
Negotiate and advise on export and trade related clauses for a wide variety of agreements, including related to sales, partners, alliances, and vendors; and provide trainings and playbooks for such
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we need someone who has:
- A strong work ethic, exceptional judgement and uncompromising integrity
- Experience handling export and import compliance issues
- J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar
8+ years of attorney experience with U.S. sanctions regulations and EU sanctions regulations at a law firm or in-house with a multinational corporation
Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to build strong and deep working relationships with internal stakeholders over multiple geographical locations
A practical, proactive, collaborative and business-focused approach to problem solving with the ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgement
