Position Overview:

The Manager, Product Engineering is instrumental in the development of new and existing products and the building and implementation of coherent and scalable development processes. This position will build and manage a strong, effective and efficient software development team, adopt, adapt and implement the best practices, standards and methodologies, manage the knowledge transfer, employee training and mentoring. This role reports into the Technology Organization management team; collaborating and frequently with internal stakeholders such as Product Strategy, Cloud Architecture, and Hosting Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of software engineers in development, testing, and other functions, build, develop, retain, and motivate a high-performing team
  • Work with product management, cloud architecture, hosting operation, and other delivery functions to establish schedule, track progress, identify and remedy problems, and deliver product releases on time, within budget, and on scope
  • Be the “go-to” person, provide technical direction and business guidance to the team
  • Improve SDLC by suggesting practices that improve team efficiency and effectiveness
  • Work with product managers to ensure clear product requirements and optimal product design
  • Review and provide feedback on architectural decisions to ensure technical soundness
  • Establish, document and enforce quality processes within the software development team, including coding standards, code reviews, unit testing, and other standard operating procedures and work instructions
  • Ensure proper and timely documentation is filed with the endpoint QA and represent R&D Software Development during audits and inspections
  • Serve as an escalation point for technical issues related to product releases or product delivery involving the managed team

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent and/or appropriate experience.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in software development using Microsoft technologies
  • 4+ years of experience as engineering manager
  • 2+ years of experience in cloud technologies, Azure preferred
  • Proven track record in delivery of enterprise software product
  • Deep understanding of programming principles and design patterns
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft technology stack including C#.Net
  • Extensive knowledge of SQL and non-SQL databases
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript
  • Experience with Agile development.
