The Opportunity
As a Manager of Communications for NA, you’re role will include:
Build and maintain strong, positive media relationships with top tier B2B, corporate and trade journalists across the region
Lead PR announcements for corporate and trade media, including new merchant partnerships and product updates
Support NA General Manager and other senior executives in speaking opportunities, media interviews and other executive visibility events
Proactively manage Canada’s communications program including the CA agency
Proactively develop pitches and place stories related to the company’s position on retail trends, Millennial and Gen z spending power and merchant success story telling in top tier media outlets
Host 1:1 media briefings to highlight Afterpay’s tech advancements/features and loyalty program
Assist with consumer PR-related projects and initiatives
Applicants should have:
Exceptional writing skills
Ability to actively contribute in building and implement a comprehensive corporate and PR media strategy that covers a reactive framework and proactive opportunities
Ability to work closely with the sales, B2B, SMB and brand marketing teams
Manage and cultivate relationships with top tier B2B, fintech and trade media
Collaborate with cross-functional and global departments including legal, marketing and sales
Experience:
6-8 Yrs experience in PR/communications
Strong track record in helping shape a company’s perception and reputation in the media related to business performance and brand partnerships
Ability to build strong relationships with journalists and senior stakeholders
Strong professional experience in a fast-paced business environment
Ability to be comfortable to work with occasional ambiguity
