Crunchyroll COVID-19 Hiring Status
Crunchyroll employees are currently working from home, and we are still conducting remote interviews and hiring during this time. This role is expected to start remotely, and we’ll work closely with you as we understand every person has unique circumstances.

About The Team
The Crunchyroll content team sits at the core of our business. It is over 30 people strong and spread across three offices -- San Francisco, Tokyo and Europe. The team is responsible for Content Acquisition, Content Production, Partner Management, Strategic Alliances and Programming. The market is highly competitive -- acquiring the right content under the right deal terms is critical to driving the growth of our business.
Strong business development skills, a deep understanding of the media space and strong negotiation skills are critical for this role. You will be a visionary and risk taker, willing to open up the boundaries beyond what has been done before. It will be crucial for this role to feel comfortable working with clients at all levels of seniority, developing trusted and positive relationships. This role will be a central point of contact and strategy for multiple areas of our business, and it will be your job to ensure that Crunchyroll maintains its position as a leader and innovator in the Anime and streaming spaces.
About You:
- 1-3 years of SQL query experience
- Looker / Tableau / Mixpanel experience
- Bachelor's degree with a major or emphasis on coursework of a quantitative nature, preferably Finance, Business, or Mathematics (Statistics is helpful)
- Previous experience in media/entertainment or digital consumer subscriptions
- Familiarity with anime
A day in the life of our Content Analyst, Content Strategy:
- Lead forward-looking projection of audience, viewership, and content spend as part of budgeting & forecasting exercises
- Engage in substantial cross-functional activity, interacting with teams across the company to drive collaborative initiatives including:
- Coordinate with Business Intelligence to develop key metrics and design reporting processes / templates to assess and track content performance, summarizing insights and drafting action items
- Work with content leads and data engineering teams to evaluate performance of curation & recommendation efforts
- Analyze viewership patterns to guide marketing and lifecycle communication efforts
- Support the data analysis and information management necessary to evaluate the potential of considering contents
- Conduct analysis to better understand audience segmentation, continually refining user profiles and guiding optimization of programming mix
- Provide analysis informing release schedules, windowing strategies, and marketing plans for new content launches
- Global viewpoint -- this role interacts with teams in Japan, Europe, and San Francisco
