Director of Brand
About the role
As Director of Brand, you will help develop and drive our brand marketing strategy to expand our reach and further our mission to provide financial peace of mind. We’re building a new kind of bank experience that helps members get ahead by making managing money easy. In this role, you will leverage deep customer insights to craft a brand narrative and identity. You and your team will execute on our brand strategy by creating visual elements of our brand, refining our messaging and content to tell a compelling story, and driving customer insights. Reporting to the VP of Brand Marketing, you’ll be responsible for growing the Brand Marketing team, as well as working closely with the Growth, Product, Member Services and Analytics teams to ensure the vision and voice that you developed is executed into one cohesive experience.

In this role, you can expect to
- Refine our brand strategy and identity to drive growth and establish Chime as category innovator and leader; continually build and shape the perception of the Chime brand to meet business goals.
- Drive brand awareness. Create and launch brand campaigns, including concepts, objectives, and execution tactics across digital and offline channels.
- Partner with Growth to increase value of direct acquisition, content, and social efforts.
- Oversee the development of Marketing / Advertising Creative (including TV ads, online ads in social media, search, etc.) with a focus on establishing Chime as a household name.
- Work with Comms & Marketing leadership to develop strategic narratives and themes for multi-channel always on / evergreen content.
- Develop relevant KPIs and measure ongoing lift from campaigns; use analytical resources to prioritize and optimize brand efforts.
- Work with the Director of Product Marketing to gather actionable customer insights to drive future marketing strategies and product innovation. Drive segmentation and position of Chime features to reinforce brand strategy. Ensure consistency in our brand throughout our customer experience.
- Champion brand internally, partnering with the People team, to ensure employee culture is strong and reflective of the brand.
To thrive in this role, you have
- 10+ years in digital brand management, preferably with direct-to-consumer growth stage companies
- Proven success in the development and successful execution of brand strategies, plans, briefs, and achieving outcomes.
- Experience managing large budgets and internal/external creative development
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to share big ideas through stories with a consistent voice
- Analytical grounding and thought process in order to both prioritize opportunities and evaluate the performance of marketing efforts.
- A highly entrepreneurial spirit and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to focus and thrive under minimal guidance
- Established key relationships with stakeholders and orgs, especially Partnerships and Media teams.
