Clumio is looking for a Director, Communications to build a robust and comprehensive communications plan that will punch through the noise to raise awareness for Clumio’s ground-breaking approach to data protection. You will be responsible for working with the go-to-market teams, executive staff, product team, and others to scale the Clumio story as we enter the next phase of our high-growth journey. In this role, you will be responsible for media, influencer and analyst relations, social media, thought leadership, and the customer advocacy program. 

This is a key role for Clumio that requires an innate curiosity in identifying and developing compelling stories about Clumio and our solutions. A successful candidate must have extensive public relations and corporate communications experience within the technology sector, demonstrate outstanding writing skills, and have a passion for building, promoting and expanding global brands. This role reports directly to the VP of Marketing.


In this role you will:

  • Work with executive leadership, product marketing, and others to develop the PR calendar and create comprehensive and provocative media campaigns to advance the company's vision, mission, strategy, results, and culture.
  • Drive global communications strategies and plans including the development of pitches and stories.
  • Manage global PR agencies to deliver breakthrough PR across trade and business press.
  • Own and develop the partner PR program to drive awareness.
  • Write press releases and manage the approval process.
  • Develop bylined articles and other contributed content.
  • Build strategic and prioritized analyst relations plans and build relationships to ensure Clumio is positioned as a leader in key industry buyer guides.
  • Expand social media reach and engagement, and develop authentic influencer relationships across a broad spectrum of social channels.
  • Manage the company blog including writing and editing blog entries.
  • Manage outside writers, editors, and designers as needed.
  • Lead the customer advocacy program to cultivate and develop relationships with customers who are enthused to tell the Clumio story through written platforms and in-person at industry forums.


Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in B2B corporate communications.
  • Outstanding portfolio of writing samples and successful communications campaigns.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a successful customer reference program.
  • Proven history of delivering complex projects on time and on budget.
  • Strong project and organization skills with the ability to optimally structure and prioritize work.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully influence critical stakeholders and to communicate the team’s vision and accomplishments.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and high energy.
  • Excellent collaboration skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Awareness of and proficiency with the depth and breadth of current communications technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • BA in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing or similar.
  • Available to travel as needed.
