Divvy’s Marketing and Communications Team is hiring a senior leader to serve as the Director of Communications. This person is responsible for Divvy’s internal and external communication strategy, including owning the product, consumer, and corporate channels. The ideal candidate has served on multiple Communications/PR teams in past professional roles, including at start-ups and mid-/large- sized companies. At Divvy, this person will own all Communications efforts, which includes city-specific/local PR initiatives.


The Director of Communications will work collaboratively with Divvy’s Leadership, Marketing, and Operations teams to strategically tell customer stories and help amplify & support the business goals in each city/region. This person will draft and execute creative ways to tell Divvy’s story and will develop & pitch key stories related to its rent-to-own product. S/he will also draft and distribute press materials, including press releases, statements, talking points, award submissions, and more. Additionally, s/he will run point on internal communications for Divvy, including Executive Communications, Investor Relations, and Corporate Communications. 


Responsibilities

- Own Divvy’s internal, external, and corporate communications efforts.

- Serve as point for reporters on the national and local stage, bringing a pre-existing list of contacts with you to Divvy.

- Superb writing skills - whip out a blog post or press release in a matter of minutes. Be able to determine what’s a company-level announcement vs. individual announcement, and which internal properties are best for each. 

- Partner with Finance, Marketing, and the Executive Team to communicate important points externally.


Work Experience

- 8+ years of business experience in Communications and/or PR.A degree in Communications, PR, Marketing, or a similar field.

- Experience with qualitative and quantitative research to develop strategic insights for a variety of marketing initiatives.

- Ability to think about high level strategy, but also a focus on details and execution.

- Comfortable in a rapidly changing and fast paced environment.

- Willing to knock down walls in order to hit your KPIs / goals.
