Scality is seeking an experienced Corporate Communications professional with 5-10 years of experience in a technology industry company to manage the company’s Analyst and Press Relations (AR and PR). The ideal candidate will bring experience managing communications in the data storage or data management industries, but candidates from other related technology domains will be considered. Strong candidates will bring skills and experience in writing press releases, articles and other content that can tell an engaging story, above and beyond just stating product features and facts. Additional experience in writing customer case studies and success stories will also be key. 

A strong English-language writer and creative thinker, with an understanding of the technology media landscape and solid research and problem-solving skills is critical to the success of our communications program. And, as a small but global company with offices, customers and target customers around the world, we value candidates with a mix of US and international experience and interest. The person in this role is responsible for managing Scality’s PR agency contacts in the US, UK, France and Germany, and for opportunistic activities in other countries. The Corporate Communications Director will also manage analyst relationships, customer references and case studies and play a critical role in multiple marketing campaigns and work streams, in collaboration with all segments of the Marketing team. The person in this role will also have ongoing interaction with the executive management team as it aligns to our corporate priorities, brand and awareness goals, and will report directly to the Chief Product and Marketing Officer.

Qualifications: BS/BA in Communications, Marketing or Business Administration (or other applicable discipline), with 5-10 years of communications experience, either agency or in-house for a technology vendor. Proven writing and editing skills (including news releases, messaging documents, articles and executive briefing documents). Demonstrated project and time management skills, and able to grasp the big picture across business groups, segments and geographies, while pursuing and buttoning down the details. Part of a small team, the person in this role must be willing to roll-up sleeves and get the work done, while thinking ahead proactively and taking initiative. Knowledgeable and proficient with content tools, office automation and collaboration tools. Excellent team player who is committed, energetic, enthusiastic and creative.

Location: West Coast USA preferred but can work freely from Scality’s San Francisco, CA office or remotely.
