Pathstream is seeking a Head of Product Marketing to own the go-to-market strategy for our B2C business. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, skilled storyteller, and expert influencer with the demonstrated ability to work closely with Product, Design, Content & Community & Engineering to generate strong outcomes. Within this scope, the role will lead initiatives related to product positioning and messaging, identifying insight-driven product opportunities, while also setting the strategy and comms for lifecycle campaigns. The role ultimately succeeds through running experiments to continuously improve performance throughout the customer journey.

You’ll get to work on:

  • Go to market strategy: Own the go-to-market strategy, process, and roadmap for product features, upgrades and new launches; Lead identification of the right segments, positioning, messaging, and adoption tactics for new and existing products; work closely with Product to launch new capabilities and user experiences to drive prospective students through the acquisition and long-term engagement funnels. 
  • Voice of the customer: become the go-to expert on the needs, behavior, motivations and market trends of working adults seeking economic stability and mobility.  Continuously engage in quantitative/ qualitative research insights, while developing a strong understanding of the broader competitive landscape and ecosystem.  Lead cross-functional teams to conduct and centralize customer, product, industry and opportunity insights on an ongoing basis. 
  • Messaging & Positioning: Deliver product positioning, value proposition, proof points, and messaging framework based on deep consumer and competitive insights that resonates with our customers at every touchpoint.  Bring strong storytelling to life throughout every step of the customer journey.  Continue to refine a cohesive brand strategy which cohesively incorporates the brands of our tech partners, university partners, and corporate partners.
  • Experimentation: Drive campaigns and experimentation plans for Lifecycle to increase conversion. Build data-backed measurable KPIs for all activities.
  • Contribute to our team culture by fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment
  • Be a part of building a company from the ground up

You’re a good fit if: 

  • Experience marketing a solution that is complex. You've been in marketing for 4+ years and Product Marketing for 2+ years with a focus on consumer technology products; ideally you have experience with B2B2C.
  • Deep empathy for understanding user needs and experience generating insights through qualitative/quantitative research as well as data analysis
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, including ability to translate user insights into product implications and messaging
  • You are equally excited about analyzing performance data as you are about creative storytelling.
  • You are a player/coach. Willing to do whatever it takes, but also have the ability to hire an awesome team.
  • You enjoy working in an ambiguous, start-up environment and can make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • You’re curious, and eager to learn something new every day
  • You are a great teammate. Your peers, managers, and reports are excited to partner with you.
