Director, Member Marketing

MasterClass sells only one product - an annual membership that gives each member unlimited access to all 90+ classes on our platform. As we continue to grow our team, we’re looking for a marketing leader to help us expand the benefits and the value of a MasterClass membership - beyond our core content. 

As Director, Member Marketing, you will define and implement the program of benefits, services, experiences and campaigns that reward, engage and ultimately retain MasterClass members. 

Reporting to the VP, Head of Marketing, you will work across MasterClass functions and with external partners and vendors to: 

  • Devise the overarching strategy and value proposition for membership 
  • Define and implement the suite of benefits, offers and experiences that we engage and reward our members with 
  • Define and implement campaigns to reward and retain members 
  • Partner with our Brand Marketing team to identify opportunities to feature membership benefits in acquisition campaigns 
  • Define and implement product features and functionality to further engage members with our core product 
  • Define and implement the segmented communications strategy that allows us to target members across all our owned channels
  • Set and meet the overarching goals and KPIs for membership 

You are already working in a loyalty and/or membership role at a name consumer brand - or in an equivalent capacity at a leading agency - and have extensive experience in both high-level membership strategy and granular lifecycle communications tactics. 

What skills do I need? 

  • 10-15 years experience in membership or loyalty strategy and execution at a brand or agency, consultancy or internal brand based team.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization and building influential and collaborative relationships
  • Experience translating insights, ideas, and data into member value
  • Extensive experience in analyzing and developing campaigns for on and off-line customer communications
  • Collaborative, creative and analytical
  • Driven to connect brands and people

MasterClass is located in the SOMA district of San Francsico. We are located between 3rd and 4th street with tons of public transportation nearby.
