We are looking for an Email Marketing Manager to help lead and execute our various email and marketing automation programs. The dedicated team you will be a part of is responsible for the quality and integrity of all member communications (email, push, SMS). We work hard to drive utilization of the tools and benefits that our members have access to.

Your day to day:

  • You will have the opportunity to lead strategy, production and operations. Typical projects will include campaign planning, segmentation, configuration of email series for automation, email (and/or push and SMS) execution and QA, reporting and analytics.
  • Drive member communication strategy with content, relevancy, smart segmentation and personalization
  • Review the competitive landscape and implement best practice methodologies for email and marketing automation
  • Contribute to the development of our email marketing roadmap and strategies that support our business objectives
  • Participate in strategy planning and provide email metrics forecast to meet business goals
  • Build queries and hit the send button on emails to millions of users.
  • Guide design work and code email templates in HTML/CSS to be compatible on different email clients, web browsers, and mobile
  • Identify and execute on testing opportunities (segmentation, personalization, layout, format, frequency, copy, etc.) to continuously improve email performance focused on user engagement driving towards our KPIs
  • Develop weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting on email performance
  • Provide channel and campaign level analysis; make recommendations to optimize email performance
  • Help project manage your projects including: handling email deliverables within engineering and data sprints, clarifying requirements, running the interdependencies, establishing and maintaining effective communication channels with key partners

Minimum:

  • 4 - 8 years dedicated email and marketing automation experience
  • Hands-on experience with leading ESPs - Salesforce Marketing Cloud (preferred)
  • Extensive knowledge of HTML/CSS to create and refresh HTML templates
  • Ability to plan, execute, and lead multiple programs at once
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in reporting and BI tools
  • Deep understanding of databases
  • Experience building and running automation programs
  • Knowledge of A/B test strategies, multivariate test strategies, and test planning
  • Deep understanding of email marketing and changing industry trends, especially for mobile
  • Ability to work across various levels of the organization while building trust and cultivating collaboration
  • Collaborate, cooperate and manage timelines with all stakeholders (Marketing, Brand, Legal, Privacy, Sales, Data, Product, Editorial), ensuring that their needs are met and goals achieved
  • Proven experience leading complex projects
  • Ability to work well under pressure, with tight deadlines, and cope with changes
  • Ability to multitask and take the lead on several projects simultaneously
  • Desire to consistently enhance user communications, bringing new ideas to the table – both strategic and executional
  • Excellent communicator
  • Incredible attention to detail and an eye for quality
  • Process driven

Preferred:

  • SQL experience preferred
  • The successful candidate will be strategic, tactical and influential.
  • Experience in building, managing and leading cross-functional teams.
