The Opportunity
Afterpay is seeking a Lead for our Merchant Marketing Technology & Operations. This role will play a critical role in Afterpay’s SMB Marketing organization. Reporting to the Head of SMB Marketing, this person will be responsible for building a best-in-class marketing tech stack that supports our rapid growth and merchant centric programs. You will partner with the Global Marketing team, Sales, Operations, Finance, Data, and Product teams to build and deliver a technology roadmap for the SMB marketing area and report business impact of martech investments and overall marketing spend.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of digital marketing processes and experience integrating data systems, developing workflows, coordinating cross channel platforms and telling stories with data.
You will create scalable processes and an integrated system that ensures best practices in small business acquisition, growth and retention.

- Lead global strategy, roadmap and execution of integrated marketing technologies, platforms and data needs. Architect a best-in-class martech foundation that scales with the business while driving engagement, performance and revenue. Proactively identify and solution for key system and process gaps
- Evaluate end-to-end marketing processes/platforms/and recommend new technologies and add-on applications to improve and optimize conversion rates and marketing spend
- Partner with product, data and engineering teams on technology prioritization needs that impact commercial results. Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve technical issues
- Partner on data roadmap needs with cross-organization working groups
- Translate marketing technology investments into direct and measurable business results
- Liaise effectively with other Global Marketing teams to ensure MarTech is anticipating their needs, proactively planning capabilities, and supporting change management
- Provide insights on marketing campaign performance and return on investment
- Partner closely with demand generation and lifecycle marketing, Sales and Finance teams to develop models for use in forecasting, CAC, LTV, and ROI measurement
- Develop and maintain data and reporting processes, promoting data integrity best practices for maintaining a healthy database
- Have a solid understanding of digital marketing channels, manage and report on marketing campaign performance and A/B testing, attribution and analytics across multiple channels/products

- 6 years of experience in Managing Marketing Technology Roadmaps, Marketing - - -Operations, Marketing Analytics, or similar
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex numbers into actionable insights
- Ability to track, measure and report on results of various marketing functions to determine ROI
- Advanced in data segmentation and reporting within a CRM and Marketing Automation system (Marketo and Salesforce are highly preferred)
- Experience with digital marketing platforms and tools including Google Analytics and/or other funnel analytics and attribution technologies
- Experience in process improvement in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with proven ability to manage multiple demands successfully
- Experience managing through ambiguity by creating structure, process, and prioritization
- Ability to anticipate and adapt to new situations and/or changing demands and able to respond proactively
