Meraki is looking for an experienced Head of Customer Marketing to build and lead a team of global customer marketers! This role will define and implement a comprehensive suite of strategic customer programs that are essential elements of all Marketing programs. As part of Cisco Meraki’s Global Market Strategy team, this leader will collaborate with Audience, Solution and Product marketing leaders to develop marketing strategies that embrace and integrate customer voice. This experienced leader must be able to use empirical data, customer stories and market evidence to articulate a differentiated platform position that speaks to decision maker, technical and influencer personas.
As the Head of Customer Marketing, this leader will be responsible for driving a comprehensive customer marketing strategy that includes executive programs (i.e. CABs, EBCs, and Summits), comprehensive communications, customer story development and establishing a regular and measurable customer feedback loop. Just as importantly, you and your team will work closely with Sales and Product stakeholders to nurture customers and their voices for eventual use in marketing programs.
You will report to the Global Head of Market Strategy and will have an active role in defining and executing the team vision. As part of the Market Strategy leadership team, you will also interact with Sales, Marketing and other leaders while building managing and mentoring a team of customer marketers!
This role is based in the Mission Bay, San Francisco office and will support global teams. Up to 25% travel is envisioned although, at least initially, must be able to remote work with teams in the US and UK.
What you'll do
- Define the strategy for Executive Programs consisting of Executive Briefing Center engagements, Customer Advisory Board(s), Executive roundtables / summits and more
- Lead the ongoing strategy for the Cisco Meraki User Group Conference
- Develop a comprehensive customer communications strategy leveraging different channels (e.g. Community, Newsletters, emails, etc.).
- Deepen engagement with strategic customers and increase loyalty across all target audiences / verticals
- Develop metrics that measure customer marketing impact
- Integrate customer advocacy within Cisco (e.g. EBCs)
- Incubate Customer Success programs to drive rapid implementation of Cisco Meraki solutions, advocacy and customer insight for marketing purposes
- Develop thoughtful, customer voice materials for campaigns
- Build, develop and mentor a customer marketing team ensuring a continuous evolution of skills, professional growth and expanded responsibilities
Who you are:
- 10+ years of proven experience in customer marketing
- Proven leader with a track record for team development
- Metrics oriented approach to continuous improvement of customer marketing tactics
- Strong ability to shape customer voices / stories to validate differentiation and messaging
- Excellent communicator, creative problem solver, risk-taker, innovative thinker, consensus builder, motivator, assertive leader
- Comfortable leading and collaborating in an agile marketing environment
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Experience working in the Tech, IT or networking industry is a requirement
- Up to 25% travel may be required
