Head of Global Corporate Communications
Atlassian is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. All new and existing Atlassians will continue to work from home until it’s safe to return to our offices. When our offices re-open, we will provide the choice to work from home or return to work in an office unless a job requirement makes it necessary for a particular role to be performed at an Atlassian office.
The Head of Global Communications will be instrumental in supporting rapid company growth. This role will lead Atlassian’s global external communications efforts to advance the company’s corporate narrative and position around the world. The ideal candidate is a business person first, with demonstrated experience developing integrated programs that span media relations, executive visibility, financial communications and digital and social media.
The Communications organization drives coordinated external communications in service to business and go-to-market outcomes. This leader is encouraged to bring strong technical and functional skills to their role and, equally importantly, to lead through personal values consistent with Atlassian’s values. This leader will have a successful history of building strong teams, applying critical thinking and executing optimally to deliver sustained accomplishments!
IN THIS ROLE, YOU'LL GET TO:
- Develop vision for, and lead execution of, annual and quarterly communications strategies and plans, which enable achievement of business objectives vis-à-vis employees, customers and shareholders.
- Provide strategic communications counsel to Founders, Product and GTM and other senior leaders.
- Develop high-quality written materials that convey Atlassian's corporate and purpose narrative including messaging platforms, press releases, blogs, Q&As, speeches, editorials, infographics etc.
- Lead a team in developing communications programming for the company (in the US and Globally), including media relations, content, thought leadership, M&A, IR and issues management.
- Manage the Agency relationships to ensure the highest level of performance and results.
- Lead the identification, development, pitching and placement of Atlassian-related stories in top tier business and financial media worldwide, in print, digital and broadcast outlets.
- Drive all financial communications efforts around earnings, M&A, and investments in partnership with Investor Relations.
- Evaluate and establish roles, goals, objectives and appropriate resource allocation for the communications team.
- Represent the Communications leadership, products and services to external parties.
- Create a center of excellence that provides tools, expertise and counsel to help advance local market business objectives for global team members.
- Build and maintain a strong network of business partners across all levels of the global organization.
On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
- A proven record of success at an Executive level.
- Established industry position, driven positive awareness, credibility and customer/influencer advocacy through crucial communication programs based on a deep understanding of corporate employee, customer and shareholder objectives.
- An ability to influence others and compel change in press beliefs regarding communications.
- Sound business judgment; knows what makes compelling press work.
- Well informed about groundbreaking practices in PR as practiced by the outstanding.
- Strategic problem solver; intelligent and creative.
- An ability to build a robust organization: mentor others and attract talent.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Team oriented and collaborative.
