The Communications team at Plaid is looking for a hands-on senior public relations professional to support our financial industry communications initiatives. This is a key role that will shape the messaging, plans and stories to grow awareness of Plaid’s role as a partner to all players in the financial system. The ideal candidate is passionate about the ability for technology to build a more equitable financial system, and the potential for Plaid to partner with banks and financial institutions to help drive the next phase of digital financial services globally. The ideal candidate understands how to manage successful relationships with the press, analysts and industry influencers, and has experience in crisis communications and reputation management. You have previously managed people or agency teams, yet are willing to do the hands on work to help Plaid navigate an increasingly expansive footprint in the financial services industry. This person reports directly to our Corporate Communications Lead

• Stellar written and verbal communication skills and a proven track record in integrated communications

Responsibilities

• Product Communications – Serve as senior communications counsel to the Plaid Exchange product and marketing teams, delivering recommendations on how to communicate about our products to financial institutions. Define the messaging, programs and communications channels that should be leveraged. 
• Media Relations – Drive media strategy and executions, including working with senior leaders to drive strategic coverage in support of the product objectives.
• Trade Group Relations – Participate in industry trade group’s on behalf of Plaid to involve the company in industry-level collaboration and conversation.
• Partner and Agency Management -Manage our external PR firm(s) and build relationships with our partners’ communications teams in order to tell compelling stories in the press and at conferences. 
• Financial Institution Advocates – Build relationships with our customers in order to translate customer support for Plaid into external communications opportunities.
