Marketing Business Analyst

San Francisco, CA


Chorus is looking for a talented, curious, and passionate Business Analyst who can deliver insights to Marketing Leadership and the Executive Team that helps fuel Chorus’ phenomenal growth story. You will be responsible for providing knowledge that helps the Marketing team scale our business effectively and efficiently. 


We’re a rapidly growing business in a competitive category so it’s imperative that this person thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about analyzing, interpreting, and understanding the levers that drive growth. You will have a demonstrable ability to work with structured and unstructured data, to amplify signal and minimize noise. This role will also closely work with our Finance team on Marketing budget reporting and tracking our customer acquisition costs. 


The ideal candidate brings a background in market, buyer, and financial data analysis to provide in-depth performance insights and communicate implications and hypotheses to unlock our strategies. You will be an active participant in Marketing leadership discussions as we make decisions on our priorities and performance against goals based on dashboards, customer insights, and analyses that you conceive and create. 


This position can be based in Salt Lake City, San Francisco, or Boston and reports to the Vice President of Marketing.

What You’ll Do:

  • Be the go-to analytical partner for the Marketing team. You'll work to track, analyze, and report on marketing engagement and funnel data. You’ll deliver your insights to leadership, including identifying potential risks and opportunities to the business, including working with the Director of Demand Generation to build robust marketing funnel, channel, campaign, and attribution reporting. 
  • Be responsible for managing the marketing budget so that you can tie marketing investments to results and clearly report on CAC and ROI. You’ll also be expected to own the process for budget requests and expense tracking, as well as making recommendations about where we should optimize and where we should accelerate spend. 
  • Work with Product Marketing, MarComm, and Research to source and evaluate data, analyst reports, secondary research, and our own anonymized customer data to build business impact from the most valuable available information.
  • Collaborate with MOPs, RevOps, and Finance to ensure all pertinent marketing data is available for reporting. This includes identifying new data to add, defining requirements, data cleansing, and user testing/deployment as well as troubleshooting data integrity issues.
  • Design, build, and maintain automated reporting, dashboards, and analyses to enable our team to self-service most data needs, allowing you to focus on answering hard and ambiguous questions.
  • Design, contribute to, and drive campaign experiments to form actionable recommendations. Present to business leaders to drive decisions in regular business reviews and ad hoc.
  • Assist with quarterly and yearly strategic planning processes. You'll work across teams to quantify and map out our goals as well as forecast results.
  • Provide accurate analysis with thoughtful insights to get beyond just 'what happened' to 'why did it happen' and 'what should we do about it and what do we think will happen next?'

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor's Degree in statistics, mathematics, finance, business, or marketing. 
  • 2-4 years experience in an analyst role in the B2B SaaS, consulting, or investment industry
  • A knowledge of B2B Marketing mechanics. You’ve worked with leads and funnel reporting, you understand pipeline, conversion, and marketing attribution models.
  • A love of analytics and the ability to drive closed-loop reporting from leads to revenue so that we know our ROI by campaign, offer, and source.
  • You know Salesforce, Google Analytics, Marketo, Bizible, and 6sense well and you can handle tools such as Redshift, Fivetran, and Mode.
  • Expert knowledge of SQL and using spreadsheet software. You're handy with Excel or Google Sheets, including pivots/formulas/scripts.
  • Extra credit for R or Python experience
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong collaborative skills and characteristics. You have a track record of establishing strong connections with your peers and customers of your insights.
  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and interpersonal. Ability to articulate complex information in a simple form that is that is clear and understandable by a variety of stakeholders
  • Strong business, marketing, and financial acumen.
