We do, which is why we're building Patreon, a platform that powers membership services for creators with established followings. Patreon strives to provide creators with insight, education, and tools that make it possible to retain creative control while running their creative business, so creators can focus on creating and energizing their fanbases.

Our user base has doubled in the last year alone, and we have paid over $1 billion directly to creators on our platform. In order to support this level of growth, Patreon is looking for an Online Community Manager.

What you will do:

  • Manage Patreon’s online community spaces; a Discourse forum and Discord server
  • Create and execute campaigns to drive community engagement and brand love
  • Manage community outreach (answer questions, identify issues, elevate items to team for review)
  • Interact with community members and generate positive feelings on Twitter, Instagram, etc
  • Research active community members and keep them engaged
  • Serve as the voice of Patreon creators in internal conversations
  • Surface trends and contributors to feature in exciting opportunities such as blog posts, events, emails, social media, and internal presentations
  • Support community meetups and events
  • Monitor hot topics, launches, and elevate emerging trends
  • Always put creators first

Skills and experience you possess:

  • Online moderator experience, such as Reddit, Imgur, Discord, or active Facebook groups
  • Cherish community and relationship building, both online and IRL
  • Love creator and internet culture
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with teams on external messaging
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects seamlessly, and be able to change focus in response to emerging challenges and changes

Projects you may work on:

  • Fun online projects, competitions, and discussions to inspire creators
  • Monthly content calendar with themes that coordinate across the marketing team
  • Create educational resources to to help creators achieve their goals 
  • IRL events for creators to build connections, collaborate, and be creative
  • Support larger initiatives, like #ThankYouPatrons day and big Patreon announcements 
  • Carve out a unique brand voice and make community an essential part of being a creator today
  • Make community magical
