Zscaler is seeking a PR manager to join our growing communications team. This person will be involved in all stages of communications efforts including customer references and content management. Duties include concept and message development, strategic counsel, tactical execution, and results-oriented, data-driven reporting. Specific responsibilities will include PR campaign and agency management, media relations, content and narrative creation, supporting strategic events, close partnership with our customer reference manager, and execution across internal and external communications. The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, and customer-focused. A strategic thinker while able to deliver strong results. Candidate must work well both independently and as part of a team, and possesses an interest in B2B technology, cybersecurity, and cloud technology.
Responsibilities
● Support external communications efforts, content direction, the customer reference program, and internal communications as needed.
● Manage PR functions including editorial calendar, content creation, execution, and measurement.
● Help create and execute on plans for key communications assets - our blog, social media sharing, etc. - and work with leaders in the company to create compelling content.
● Support reporter inquiries and secure presence in mainstream and niche media by developing relationships with reporters, pitching and creating press releases.
● Coordinate and collaborate with global PR agencies to maximize efficiencies and ensure content sharing and usage across regions.
● Create a strong external presence through facilitating staff speaking at conferences, hosting events, etc.
Qualifications
● BA / BS from an accredited university.
● 5-7 plus years of experience in communications and public relations, ideally both agency and in-house.
● Ability to simplify complex, nuanced technology succinctly into compelling narratives across spoken, written, and multimedia mediums.
● Write and communicate well in a variety of modes and voices including press releases, blogs, bylines, thought leadership pieces, videos, presentations, and more.
● Demonstrated experience building PR campaigns while also aligning with other marketing and business functions to meet company goals.
● Train colleagues to think from a communications perspective and to effectively represent the company publicly.
● Track record of building relationships with journalists, bloggers, and influencers in security and business spheres.
● Passion for mission-driven work and a strong desire to help us tell our story.
