At Volta we’re on a mission to accelerate the adoption of the electric vehicle. Volta creates city-wide free electric vehicle charging networks in major metropolitan areas. Our charging networks are free-to-use, free to our property partners, and monetized through brand sponsorships and digital media content. 

We are currently looking for a stellar Product Marketing Manager - EV Charging to join our growing Marketing team. This individual will come with an understanding of the charging services / EV marketplace, understanding our competitors in order to set Volta apart within the competitive landscape. 

This person will work closely with the Sales and Product teams to help drive go-to market strategies and execute overall product marketing plans. In this role, you will have a deep understanding of our customers’ needs and how to meet them with our cutting-edge charging services and product offerings. 

As a diverse business, Volta has three distinct customers and product programs. First, Volta is serving the electric vehicle community by delivering seamless and simple charging experiences that delight. Second, Volta seeks strategically placed real estate partners interested in providing best-in-class electric vehicle charging to their customers. Finally, and central to Volta’s business, we provide these services freely by partnering with forward-thinking brands who advertise on the displays of our charging stations. The Product Marketing Manager - Charging Services will help run programs focused on increasing the awareness of EV drivers to our free charging stations, thus increasing overall exposure to the ads run by our media partners. 

This role will be central to amplifying our message, driving product demand, increasing adoption and engagement, and developing customer education. They will track success through newly established KPI’s to drive further understanding of the efficacy of individual programs and product messaging. These insights will be central to the success of the greater Marketing team and will be leveraged across all platforms. 

As a hub of product and customer insights, you will work cross-departmentally to develop strategies that drive demand. Initially reporting to the VP of Marketing, but working closely with leaders across the organization, the Product Marketing Manager - Charging Services will have a huge impact on Volta and an opportunity to drive meaningful change in the world of electric vehicles.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in developing Volta’s first-ever charging services product marketing program from the ground up
  • Collaborate with the sales teams to develop presentations, collateral, email campaigns, promotions and lead nurturing programs
  • Approach marketing with a growth mindset, creating a vision for spreading awareness of Volta products/locations and then work across the organization to realize that vision
  • Develop customer insights to identify and segment target customers
  • Play a central role in mapping and optimizing the EV driver’s station usage journey
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to develop pricing, packaging, and promotion strategies
  • Define customer requirements and become a voice of Volta’s charging customers within the organization
  • Become an expert on Volta’s EV charging service competitors and their relative products, identifying opportunities for Volta’s products and services to set our offerings apart
  • Develop product messaging and content to support all platforms
  • Identify marketing opportunities alongside Product and drive high-impact product launches
  • Work closely with Customer Experience to monitor product feedback and improve overall customer satisfaction

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing
  • Experience with executing and managing product launches
  • Familiarity with automotive, clean tech, and energy nice to have
  • Success in executing B2B marketing programs
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once while operating against tight deadlines
  • Record of working effectively with diverse cross-functional teams
  • Superb writing skills, attention to detail and ability to make cogent arguments
  • Experience with the latest marketing tools in generating customer insights and demand (analytics, digital marketing, online surveys, etc.)
  • Experience working with Engineering teams, Sales teams and the ability to translate from customers to engineers/sales (and vice versa)
  • Analytical with a results-driven mindset
  • Problem solver with a talent for approaching complex challenges with a positive outlook
