Atlassian is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. All new and existing Atlassians will continue to work from home until it’s safe to return to our offices. When our offices re-open, we will provide the choice to work from home or return to work in an office unless a job requirement makes it necessary for a particular role to be performed at an Atlassian office.

Job description

Atlassian is looking for a strategic, yet crafty Product Marketing Manager to lead the go-to-market for Jira Product Discovery, which sits under our newly launched Point A program. Jira Product Discovery helps product managers build what matters by serving as the place to capture insights and opportunities, prioritize impact, and rally teams behind product plans – from discovery through delivery.

Your role will be to partner with the product team to position, package, launch, and grow Atlassian’s newest bet. You will help Atlassian expand our reach and offering to the Product Manager community by becoming the expert on our audience, crafting compelling stories behind our product, drive strategies to reach product/market and business/market fit, and working closely with the product team to deliver a differentiated solution.

What you’ll do:

  • As the sole Product Marketing Manager, you will be a key player on the quad (product, design, marketing, and research) and act as the “CMO” of the product. You will work collaboratively with product and supporting marketing teams to define strategic go-to-market, execute a successful launch, and establish sustainable distribution channels.

  • We’ll look to you to:

  • Establish product/market fit for Jira Product Discovery and develop a comprehensive GTM strategy.
  • Become the subject-matter expert on our target audience, creating segmentation frameworks, buyer personas, prioritizing key jobs-to-be-done, and facilitating our early adopter program.
  • Continuously find ways to run quick and cheap experiments that allow us to iterate on messaging, marketing assets and tactics, onboarding journies, and more.
  • Drive awareness and build our community by producing marketing assets like demo videos, customer stories, blogs, emails, content, webinars, and more.
  • Dig into the data and find areas for optimization across marketing tactics, product usage, onboarding journies, and more.
  • After we launch Beta, establish business/model fit by driving pricing, packaging and monetization strategies.

More About You:

  • A startup mindset with a passion for building products. Although we sit within Atlassian, this is a small, scrappy team and needs to be agile, work quickly, and think BIG. This is an opportunity to be involved in the envisioning, development, and finding product-market fit with an early venture - a very rare opportunity for a PMM!
  • Have both a strategic vision, yet crafty execution-style. You will need to think big but be able to get into the weeds and quickly produce.
  • You’re a phenomenal, charismatic communicator and writer with lots of creativity and curiosity.
  • 4-6 years in product marketing; proven experience growing a product from 0-1

More about the Point A Marketing team

As part of Atlassian’s newly launched, Point A, group, the Jira Product Discovery product marketer will work hand-in-hand with our partners in product management, engineering, and design to help define the market, find product-market fit, and refine product experiences as we better understand the pains of our current and future customers.

When we’re not partnering with the product team to inform the product vision, we’re working in lockstep with our end-to-end marketing teams: field marketing, demand generation, interactive, creative, and data analysts to achieve our lofty customer acquisition goals! This is a very cross-functional role, perfect for someone who is excited about finding the opportunity amidst the chaos and who is confident in their ability to prioritize and deliver measurable results in a world of never-ending opportunity.
