Public Relations Manager

Position Overview

Autodesk Construction Solutions (ACS) is looking for a Public Relations Manager to join our amazing marketing team. Reporting directly to the Head of Communications and Public Relations for ACS, you’ll be responsible for owning PR initiatives such as announcements, proactive outreach and thought leadership opportunities to secure coverage, increase our share of voice, and drive market awareness. You’ll play a key role in highlighting to the press and broader construction industry ACS’ impact on its customers, the strength of our technology and Autodesk’s construction efforts. The ideal candidate will be media savvy, have a keen eye/ear for interesting angles, and the ability to easily and clearly communicate with a wide variety of internal audiences, from executives to engineers.

Responsibilities

Execute on all aspects of media relations, including proactive outreach and developing relationships to secure coverage; respond to incoming media inquiries, and elevate or handle as needed

Work directly with existing PR and comms team to set short-term strategy as well as develop long-term plans

Holistically manage news announcements including developing press releases, working closely with internal stakeholders to craft and articulate messaging, identifying multimedia assets and securing all necessary internal approvals

Identify potential story angles (customers, product news, trend) and see ideas through to coverage

Similarly, work directly with our customers to source stories, gain buy-in and navigate challenges that come up over the course of securing a story

Demonstrate a command of bylines – sourcing ideas from subject matter experts and either crafting the article or working with directly writers to develop and edit, and then place

Manage executive visibility programs such media Q&As and speaking opportunities (and any other creative ideas you might have up your sleeve!)

As applicable, help drive analyst relations program, including tracking reports and assisting with scheduling briefings

Minimum Qualitications

5-7 years of B2B technology PR experience

Ability to develop strategic plans in partnership with and work collaboratively with different marketing departments, such as customer marketing, thought leadership and product marketing

communications team and internal stakeholders, and execute independently

Experience working with media to achieve communications goals

Ability to juggle multiple projects and determine priorities with little oversight from management

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong organization and project management skills, with excellent attention to detail

Resourceful with strong creative problem-solving skills (you prefer to look a word up in a dictionary rather than ask someone how to spell it)
