The Role:

As the Senior Director, Brand and Communications, you will be a driven and engaged senior marketing leader with a successful track record of building and leading communications and brand programs. You will be responsible for taking the Inkling brand to the next level of maturity and sophistication to improve presence, relevance and differentiation with key audiences, including prospective buyers, customers, industry visionaries and employees. You will lead a team of Communications contractors and agencies to scale the Inkling story as we enter the next phase of our high-growth journey. This role is responsible for creating and implementing a long-term communication strategy plan and act as the brand’s spokesperson with media relations. The ideal candidate will be truly passionate about branding and marketing communication, understand the important roles content and effective communication play in buying cycles, and like being part of the hard-working and fun-loving Inkling team. Reporting directly to the VP, Marketing, this role will be a key member of the marketing leadership team.

Responsibilities:

  • Define the Corporate Communications vision and strategy. Help craft the company story, brand positioning and overall content strategy.
  • Build the brand through exceptional content, media and influencer engagement.
  • Proactively build communications campaigns to advance the company's mission, strategy, results and culture through consistent messages.
  • Lead an experienced PR/AR agency to deliver breakthrough PR across business and trade media.
  • Serve as Company spokesperson as needed for certain media, analyst and public speaking engagements.
  • Own and lead Inkling’s brand identity and ensure consistency across all communication channels, and integrated campaigns, including website, SEO, social, email, trade shows, conferences, and account-based marketing programs. 
  • Provide messaging and design direction on brand-level assets, establish brand and style guidelines, templates and other materials. 
  • Develop new types of content and communication vehicles designed to answer buyers’ questions and accelerate their buying cycles. 
  • Serve as an internal consultant for the creation of all marketing content to include white papers, eBooks, videos, blog posts, press releases, infographics, etc.
  • Provide strategic direction to the build and implementation of an overall content library. 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 15+ years of experience in global branding, communication and awareness. 
  • BA or equivalent experience and direct experience in enterprise software and SaaS. 
  • Detail-oriented project manager, with an eye for great design, and proven experience managing both internal and external resources. 
  • Innovative and creative thinker and marketer who is passionate about building brands.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, less-structured environment and can take ideas and turn them into organized projects.
  • Experience refining, evolving and deploying a brand and messaging architecture.
  • Ability to develop compelling messaging and value propositions that are highly relevant to our target buyers.
  • Strong communicator, oral and written, with confidence to develop and present ideas. 
  • Balance of strategic vision and tactical execution. 
  • High degree of creativity, flexibility, energy and enthusiasm. 
  • Strong team player; demonstrated ability to partner with sales, product marketing, finance, and other cross functional departments.

  • Human Capital Management or Learning Management Software industry experience.
