About The Team
We are seeking an experienced leader who is passionate about data analysis to join our Title Marketing team as the Senior Manager. This hire will be tasked with leveling up our approach to achieve big picture business goals while spreading awareness and build buzz for the most important series on the platform. This is a meaningful role as we seek to use our unparalleled library of anime content to grow our top of funnel and deepen engagement in the mid-funnel.
This role requires someone with a deep data analysis capability - partnering with cross-functional teams to develop campaign strategies that use our slate of new and catalog titles to achieve business goals. Our Senior Manager will have proven success in mining for campaign opportunities across a variety of data sets. They will be self-motivated, capable, a clear communicator, with a passion for data focused campaigns and results. This individual will be responsible for channel strategy across all Title Marketing titles, as well as cross-title initiatives globally.
The Senior Manager, Title Marketing will report to the Director of Title Marketing, and will work towards scaling with quality and integrity. They will serve as a leader and team representative across our marketing team and in collaboration with other departments globally. A day in the life of our Title Marketing Senior Manager (Responsibilities)
- Lead the process of data analysis to identify strategic opportunities to achieve overarching business goals via Title Marketing in partnership with Business Intelligence and Content Strategy. Establish metrics for success, develop campaign frameworks, and judge performance of campaigns.
- Develop a deep understanding of the Crunchyroll content offering, and the Crunchyroll audience, to identify campaign opportunities for audience expansion.
- Lead development of long term full funnel initiatives, which will span multiple quarters and international markets. Lead the top/mid funnel campaigns, including creative strategy and internal creative production. Partner with User Acquisition Team on lower funnel campaigns that reap the benefits of upper/mid funnel investments.
- Lead channel strategy for all Title Marketing-supported series (Up to 4/quarter + cross-title campaigns) - using content strengths to achieve both strong viewership and strategic objectives. Partner with Title Marketing Managers to ensure individual title campaigns are strategically built to achieve these objectives.
- Handle the paid media budget for cross-title campaigns. Brief paid media team (and potentially agency partners) to develop media plans. Analyze post campaign results to optimize future campaign strategy and creative development/production. Report findings quarterly to greater marketing org.
- Support Title Marketing Director during content pitch phase, delivering fresh media and creative ideas that prove to our partners that Crunchyroll is the best home for their content.
About You (Requirements & Skills)
- 7+ years of proven experience in marketing and/or media strategy, with prior experience project managing across teams, carefully deploying budget, and leading data analysis across both US-based and international audiences.
- Consistent track record of leading cross-functional efforts, running the timeline and process with multiple teams and partners.
- A passion for using analytics and data to build campaign frameworks that achieve key business objectives.
- Comprehensive knowledge of social media platforms, including influencer marketing.
- An inspirational presentation style - with the ability to influence multiple teams to align around common goals.
- Just as comfortable with marketing to international audiences as marketing to American audiences.
- You’re at the cutting edge of marketing technology, strategies, and trends.
- Ability to define processes and possess strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong grasp of brand strategy - and the ability to develop marketing messages about a product/series that ladder up to the master brand.
- Most comfortable in the top/mid-funnel - but can speak the language of the lower funnel.
- A focus on paid campaigns, but an understanding how to extend those campaigns to PR, O+O, and social media.
- Respect for anime and its lifestyle and culture, familiarity with fandom communities.
Bonus Points for:
- Knowledge of anime and/or fandom communities.
- Experience marketing a subscription service or entertainment or digital media brands.
- Experience working with international teams, across time zones.
- Experience with pop culture events ecosystem.
- Experience with leading original and/or licensed content marketing.
- Experience with Wrike or similar project management tools.
