Your Impact:

Handshake is hiring a creative Social Manager (Contract to Full Time) to engage our student audience through social media and video content. Your goal will be to grow our engagement with our brand among college students and recent graduates. You’ll manage our Instagram, TikTok, and other student social content efforts to raise brand awareness, provide valuable insights for young job-seekers, and increase Handshake’s engagement among the college student community.  You’ll envision, write, and bring to life compelling social content that deeply engages our audience, cementing Handshake’s value for early job-seekers and helping us connect with students on a deeper level.  You’ll curate and manage our student social channels as a member of our Student Marketing team.

Your Role

  • Be the writer, editor, curator, and coordinator of student-facing social media channels 
  • Concept, shoot, edit, and publish regular social-first video content to support broader marketing efforts and key product features
  • Translate company objectives into social-marketing strategy 
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to engage our student social media audiences and encourage engagement and sharing
  • Own content calendar that will inspire and engage students throughout the year
  • Actively respond to and engage with our audiences, working to drive user-generated content and collect authentic student stories for marketing material
  • Engage with social influencers to expand our social impact and build momentum through partnership tests
  • Increase # of social followers and drive community engagement, complementing marketing efforts 
  • Leverage user insights to drive content and channel strategy
  • Create a wide range of content types in partnership with our brand design team: video, articles, social, and more
  • Have a “test and learn” mindset, quickly trying and validating content types
  • Measure, track, and optimize performance via data-driven decision-making
  • Build and optimize content creation and publishing processes

Your Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience with 2 years leading social content channels
  • Experience targeting a range of audiences, ideally Gen Z consumers (B2C), with video, consumer, and lifestyle content 
  • Exceptional writer, ideally with expertise engaging Gen Z audiences
  • Expertise using content marketing tools and platforms: CMS; social media mgt/listening
  • Experience creating many types of content: video, short format, infographics
  • Able to measure, understand, and communicate the impact of content and social efforts
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment
  • Strong project skills; drive from insight to ideation to execution
  • Prior experience at a consumer technology or media company preferred
