The Senior Manager, Corporate PR will lead the strategy and execution of corporate communications programs, including media strategy, media relations, corporate messaging, and issues management to protect and advance Zoom’s corporate reputation. We are looking for an experienced PR professional that thrives in a fun, fast-paced, and collaborative environment, and considers themself to be a strategic storyteller. This role will report to, and closely partner with, the Global PR & Executive Communications Lead.
Aside from business critical communications, including, but not limited to, financial and business news, culture, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), community impact, environmental, social, and governance (ESG), and issues management; you will collaborate with a broad range of internal partners and will work closely with other members of the corporate communications team, in tight collaboration with the senior leadership. This individual will be responsible for articulating company strategy, growth opportunities, trending topics (such as the future of work), and social impact; highlighting the assets and advantages that distinguish Zoom in the marketplace and in the community; positioning Zoom with relevant media in order to drive perception change; and helping address reputation issues and manage crises.
This position will join a global team that works to creatively and effectively craft Zoom’s narrative to support key business priorities and strategies. The individual will be counted on to work collaboratively within Zoom’s matrixed organization and to help provide critical thinking, strategy, and seamless execution to the corporate communications function.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive strategic, ongoing media programs that advance Zoom’s narrative across corporate topics: business and financial momentum, culture, and corporate responsibility
Identify trending themes/narratives where Zoom should insert a point of view
Partner tightly with the other teams within communications, marketing and other parts of the organization to ensure tight alignment of messages and narratives
Train and equip key spokespeople; secure and support media and speaking opportunities
Develop relationships with media, with the intent of securing positive sentiment and coverage on behalf of Zoom
Conduct ongoing analyses of key market issues and trends for which Zoom can provide a point of view
Regularly evaluate communications effectiveness and implement new approaches and strategies to improve engagement
Take into account competing and changing priorities, resources, and time demands to produce an overall strategy and plans that are realistic and achievable
Manage a small team of PR professionals
REQUIREMENTS
BA/BS degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or a related field, or an advanced degree preferred
10+ years of PR experience; preference for a combination of in-house and agency experience in the software/technology industry
Thrive in a fast-paced environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Business maturity and experience working with senior executives
Demonstrated strength in working collaboratively with and across a variety of global, cross-functional teams
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced and dynamic working environment.
Consistent track record of success in advancing corporate reputation agendas among press and key influencers
Strong network of media relationships
Team player with low ego willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
