The Opportunity
Our Product Marketing team leads go-to-market strategy for new launches, works closely with product to inform product roadmaps & strategy, and executes campaigns to drive production adoption & growth. Product Marketing is a highly cross-functional role at Afterpay, partnering closely with Product and Engineering, Brand, Sales, Design, Content, Growth & Acquisition, and Communications teams. Our team works across the entire product lifecycle, from helping shape the product, to driving launch, to growing product adoption post-launch.
We are hiring an accomplished product marketer to drive the growth and evolution of some of our newest consumer payment options. This person will be responsible for helping scale & drive product adoption across key markets by building and executing against compelling, customer-facing campaigns and creating global strategies & playbooks to optimize the consumer funnel and drive engagement.
The ideal candidate has a strong track record of launching marketing campaigns to drive adoption of innovative consumer products. This role requires someone who thrives in fast paced environments and relishes in ambiguity. They must also excel as a leader of cross-functional teams and have experience managing and influencing a diverse set of stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have a strong track record of growing new product adoption.

GTM Strategy & Execution - Develop a GTM strategy based on data & consumer insights, inclusive of target audience, end to end channel strategy, messaging, and positioning.
Messaging & Positioning - Lead the development of product positioning and messaging that differentiates Afterpay in the market
Campaign strategies - Develop compelling campaigns & narratives that resonate with the target audience and drive trial & engagement
Funnel optimization - Analyze the customer conversion funnel to understand where and why customers are dropping out and develop strategies to improve conversion.
Product education & improvements - Partner with Product & Design to improve key user flows, in-product messaging, and product education (e.g. how it works landing page, sign-up flow)
Sales enablement - Enable our sales team to sell to prospective merchants through compelling narratives, training, and marketing materials/collateral (including regularly updated external-facing and internal-facing 1-pagers on key features)
Campaign analysis - Evaluate product and campaign performance using relevant KPIs and feedback from existing and prospective customers.
Voice of the Customer- Partner with Product Management to influence roadmap based on customer, sales, and market feedback
Product intelligence - Understand the product functionality and benefits deeply and translate into compelling narratives that resonate with consumers and merchants
Market Intelligence- Maintain and improve our knowledge of consumer payment behaviors through qualitative and quantitative analysis
Competitive Intelligence- Be a domain expert on the competitive landscape

6-8 years of relevant work experience in product marketing
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who has experience scaling 0-1 products and global programs
Experience working on product marketing throughout a product’s lifecycle
Prior experience in payments and/or fintech industry is a plus
Proven track record of strong cross-functional collaboration
Strong verbal and written communicator, with the ability to synthesize a complex situation into a concise plan
Data driven and strong analytical skills
A team player who is accountable, proactive, and solution-oriented
