Our team is well-versed on quantitative data about our customer behavior on platform, but we recognize the value of having a qualitative understanding of our customers and their journeys beyond their behavior on platform. As the founding member of the Consumer Insights and Planning team, you will identify, synthesize, and disseminate key insights about who our customers are, key consumer segments, what’s important to them, and how they communicate so that we can better market, merchandise, and develop products that engage them at each step of their customer journey as well as defining core and new segments. In addition, this role will support the marketing planning process.

Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, the VP of Consumer Insights and Planning will leverage data and insights capability to provide strategic guidance born out of consumer data, insights, behaviour and trends. This important new leadership position will establish the insights department as the single source of truth for the customer and consumer. In addition, working directly with the marketing leadership team, the VP of Insights and Planning will support the annual marketing planning process.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Lead the insights framework and effectively drive relevant consumer research and insights, (Customer segmentation, NPS, Brand Health, etc) 
  • Provide customer insights for strategy, brand and new product development
  • Direct and run consumer, brand, and marketing research (qual and quant) for Grove brand & owned Brands looking to uncover insights into who our customers are, what motivates them and how we can better message our products. 
  • Conduct primary and secondary qualitative and quantitative research to promote decisions.
  • Work with cross functional teams to operationalize and influence product roadmap based on consumer insights. 
  • Manage the annual marketing planning process and quarterly OKR’s

ABOUT YOU

  • You have 10+ years of professional experience, and are comfortable working on a high-performing team with shifting priorities
  • You have experience analyzing consumer and audience feedback to generate business or marketing insights
  • You have experience with NPS, Brand Health, Ipsos, Millward Brown etc)
  • You’re consistently looking for how things could be improved, you’re hard-working, curious, and eager to turn data into actions
  • You have strong strategic and analytical skills
  • You enjoy planning and orchestrating large bodies of work
  • You are passionate about customers and data; your first instinct when solving any problem is to see what the data says 
  • You are action-oriented and want to make an impact. You follow up to make sure action is being taken when big opportunities have been identified
  • You enjoy collaborating closely with team members at all levels and being accountable for high-priority projects 
  • You care about leaving a positive impact in the world 
  • You have experience in analysing large sets of data to craft meaningful insights and recommendations
  • You have spent most of your career in some combination of: B2C / ecommerce, web analytics or Ecommerce
  •  CPG experience is helpful
