The Role:
Carrot is seeking a Web Developer, who is creative, highly-motivated to join our Marketing team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to craft rich, interactive experiences for carrotfertility.com. You’ll also play a key role in developing our brand, partnering with our design team to produce engaging materials for a number of audiences including HR professionals, benefits consultants, and Carrot members. The ideal candidate has meaningful experience working with or for leading brands with strong design principles and standards, as well as using web and digital as channels to enhance brand value and efficiently drive leads and revenue. The role will report to Carrot’s Senior Director of Marketing.
Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the Carrot corporate website — look and feel, growth strategy, conversation optimization, and more
- Quickly grasp the essence of design principles, brand standards, and business goals
- Lead the implementation of improvements to our marketing web dev processes; as the first marketing developer hire, you’ll have the opportunity to standardize the process
- Leverage tools like Google Lighthouse to find opportunities to improve performance and usability
- Partner with stakeholders across the organization to scope new web pages or section needs and develop a plan for evaluating asks
- Create attention-grabbing experiences by helping to identify emerging trends and working to implement them as appropriate across our marketing properties
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of experience in front-end development experience using modern web practices and technologies
- Experience working closely with designers on the planning and execution phases of a web project
- You have your own design opinions and are not shy about sharing them
- Solid understanding of underlying web technologies and ability to turn design prototypes in Figma into real-life web pages
- Familiarity with integrating and connecting to third-party analytics services (Google Analytics, Marketo, etc.) by standard configuration or writing custom JS when necessary
- Comfort with the ambiguity inherent in a fast-paced startup environment
- Ability to quickly pick up various web build and content technologies, such as low-code tools and CMS integrations
