The Network Infrastructure Data Science Engineer will play a pivotal role in transforming complex data from end-to-end network infrastructure and lab testbeds into actionable insights. This role focuses on developing and implementing advanced data extraction and visualization processes to support networking tasks.
Responsibilities- Extract, merge, and analyze data from multiple sources, including mobile devices, lab equipment, and databases using advanced tools like Wireshark/pcap and sFlow.
- Develop scripts and queries in Python and Bash to automate data extraction, communication with APIs, and report generation.
- Manage and operate lab testbeds and benchmarking platforms, conducting tests and troubleshooting issues to maintain optimal performance and data integrity.
- Design and implement ETL processes to analyze raw data, and synthesize findings into actionable recommendations.
- Integrate and process data for visualization using tools such as Grafana, InfluxDB, and matplotlib, generating automated reports and providing insights to stakeholders.
- Document ETL processes, and provide detailed operational guidelines.
- Proficiency in Python and Bash for automation scripting and data processing.
- Extensive experience with SQL, InfluxDB, Hive, and ODS for data storage and querying.
- Familiarity with networking protocols and technologies, including network infrastructures and wireless.
- Hands-on expertise with data extraction tools such as Wireshark/pcap and exposure to packet capture analysis.
- Proficiency in using data visualization platforms like Grafana, InfluxDB, and matplotlib.
- Experience in developing and managing ETL processes with tools like SQL, XML, and flat files.
- Strong Unix/Linux system administration experience, including scripting in bash and perl for system automation and process management.
- Subject matter expertise in data formats including JSON, XML, and YAML.
- Familiarity with API communication technologies such as WebSocket and REST for integrating with lab testbeds and systems.
- Knowledge of network tools and streaming analytics for real-time data processing and visualization.
- Knowledge of quality-of-experience (QoE) metrics in networking solutions and iOS/Android mobile apps.
