About the Role
Our operations team is growing, and we are looking for a stellar AM Shift Manager to come and join us at Nuro. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our fleet while managing our Dispatchers and Robot Operators.
The Shift Manager is responsible for building and growing a world class team of robot operators. You are the backbone of your team and are there to support them through their day-to-day tasks and their overall development within Nuro. You are willing to roll up your sleeves and learn the ins and outs of Nuro’s technology while leading a large, diverse team and prioritizing safety.
About the Work
- Manage a full shift (6:00am to 3:00pm) of onroad operations to ensure optimal productivity and a smooth transition to the following shift
- Ensure safety procedures and policies are understood, implemented, and followed across the team effectively maintaining a culture of safety
- Act as the point of escalation and team advocate for all operators up to higher management
- Spearhead company wide Robot Operations initiatives while ensuring excellent cross-team collaboration
- Respond to and handle emergency situations safely with diligence, composure, and ease
- Lead hiring initiative for future AM operators while collaborating with Recruiting to maintain hiring goals
About You
- 1+ years of management experience (team size 25+ people), ideally at a startup or in autonomous driving
- 1+ years of experience in conflict management and building positive morale
- Ability to work onsite from 6:00am to 3:00pm Monday through Friday with the possibility of weekend work
- Highly collaborative and an exceptional communicator
- Impeccably organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
- Ability to remain flexible with the changing needs of the business
- Willing to travel domestically as needed
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
