Why Divvy?

Over the past decade, millions of Americans have been forced to put their dreams of homeownership on hold. Home prices have outpaced wage growth while mortgage requirements continue to tighten. As a result, renters are missing out on a critical wealth-building opportunity: owning a home.

At Divvy, we're building an on-ramp to homeownership – one that's more affordable, more flexible, and an overall better fit for the modern American family – and it’s working.

We’re looking for a Business Operations Associate to join our growing company. In this role, you’ll be a part of the Buybacks Team at Divvy that executes Divvy buyback home sales, ongoing customer service, and the buyback process. At Divvy, the buyback process involves the Divvy tenant purchasing the Divvy home that they are currently renting as part of our rent-to-own program. Your role will involve proactive management of our Divvy customers, lenders, and title companies to ensure homes that are in the process of being bought back by Divvy tenants are fully reviewed and closed on time. This will involve the following responsibilities: ensuring that customers and lenders understand the terms and conditions of Divvy, that customer obligations (rent payments, paperwork, etc.) are fulfilled before closing, that Divvy, lenders, and the title companies are kept up to date on home closing statuses, that any and all lender-required paperwork are provided in a timely manner, and that customers have a positive Divvy experience. As with all team members, you will also be expected to think beyond the current processes to improve our buyback operations as we scale.

You’ll report directly to Divvy’s Buybacks lead and work with fellow teammates on ensuring customers have a smooth transition from Divvy tenant to exiting the Divvy rent-to-own program as a homeowner. The following will be key to supporting your teammates and Divvy customers: attention to detail, being forward-looking, the ability to multitask and adapt, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and manage multiple stakeholders. You will be the final hurdle between being a Divvy tenant and being a homeowner, making the job a lynchpin in the Divvy experience.

  • Proactively identify issues that could affect the successful buyback of a home and then come up with creative solutions to address and address the core issues
  • Working on strategic initiatives to improve the customer and buyback experience at scale
