The Opportunity at Komodo Health

We’re looking for a scrappy problem solver and self-starter to join our newly formed business operations at Komodo. This is an opportunity to gain a ton of exposure to the ins-and-outs of operating a rapidly-scaling startup, work closely with our founders and executive team, and guide executive-level decision making.

The Business Operations team’s mission is to partner with teams across the company to drive data-driven decision making and cross-functional execution in alignment with overall company strategy, and the team primarily fulfills its mission by measuring and acting upon operational data. As an early member of our team, you will dive deep into areas across our business, help us set and measure goals, surface critical data, and keep us accountable. You will synthesize quantitative and qualitative information to proactively surface opportunities and risks, then arm team leaders and those closest to the problem with the context, framing, and recommendations to take action. At times, you will drive execution and measurable improvement by working directly with the relevant team.

This role is cross-functional at a rapidly-growing startup, and as a result you will have few defined processes and significant whitespace to identify problems and define solutions across the company. We have offices in both San Francisco and New York City, and we are looking for candidates in both locations. Your manager is located in San Francisco.

As one of the members of this business-critical team, you will anchor on the following:

• Drive improvement across the company by connecting the dots (both quantitative and qualitative, from operational metrics to qualitative insights), proactively surfacing key areas of attention for the executive team to act against, and recommending paths of action
• Leverage operational data, organizational context, external research, and business intuition to investigate problems and structure recommendations to optimize existing operations for specific teams 
• Help set and measure our company-wide quarterly and annual goals and work with our functional leaders to cascade our corporate goals into team-level KPIs
• Own the end-to-end process, from metric design to data collection to reporting, for capturing our KPIs and leading indicators of success
• Drive visibility of KPIs and operational metrics through dashboards and reports, measure success against plan, and proactively highlight potential issues or blind spots
• Partner closely with our leaders and teams and leverage data to guide them through business-critical decisions by conducting deep dive analyses within various parts of the business. Determine historical performance using quantitative data and areas for future improvement and investment through these deep dives

What You Bring to Komodo

• Someone with 4+ years operating at a tech company (ideally with some time at a startup) in business operations, analytics, or a similar role heavy in data interpretation; experience across multiple functions a plus OR someone with 3+ years within consulting and at least 1 year operating within a startup environment. 
• Analytically-minded and very comfortable with analyzing, synthesizing, and presenting complex data; experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Looker, Chartio, etc.) a plus
• Highly adaptable with a mind for creating structure out of ambiguity, and a resourceful, proactive self-starter, able to take projects with minimal direction and details to completion
• Structure- and process-minded; experience with process design and improvement a plus
• Project management oriented and able to push forward and project manage multiple different initiatives at different stages with different levels of support needed
• Voraciously curious, self-driven, and eager to learn
• An outstanding writer, speaker, and communicator
• Service-oriented and not above rolling up your sleeves and doing everything from scheduling meetings to cleaning up data
