Reports To: Senior Manager of Coaching Services

Location: Remote and/or San Francisco, CA (Ginger.io Corporate Office)

Ginger is experiencing high-growth and is seeking a Coach Manager to provide robust support to and oversight of our coaching staff. You will manage a sub-team of coaches, monitoring performance and providing feedback on an on-going basis. As well, you will encourage a culture of continuous improvement, and focus on improving member and coach satisfaction and care. You will partner with other Coach Managers to assess training needs and desires, solve operational challenges, provide hiring support and continue to improve our team-based care model within coaching and across the organization. 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a ‘coach’s coach’
  • 1:1 supervision of coaching staff
  • Assist w/ quality assurance reviews
  • Rotating coverage for frontline/ on-call support of coaching staff
  • Requires 1 to 2x monthly to work weekends, evenings and/or holidays
  • Manage Group Supervision  
  • Team training support, as needed
  • Hiring support, as needed
  • Support oversight of coach working-groups such as our Mentor Coaches, Shift Leads, and QA group
  • Work closely w/ Coaching Operations to track capacity needs, ensure compliance w/ People Ops protocols etc.
  • Ensure coach team resiliency
  • Support professional development and employee satisfaction

Qualifications and Key Attributes:

PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to hire licensed clinicians for this role or individuals 12 months from receiving licensure and are also unable to provide any type of clinical supervision towards licensure. We are not currently accepting candidates residing outside of the US.

  • MA degree in psychology related field
  • NBC-HWC, coaching certification from an accredited training program and/or 2 years demonstrated coaching experience
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience, 6 months of which must have occurred with direct supervision, under a qualified, credentialed or licensed supervisor
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive leadership and managerial experience, preferably within a healthcare or coaching organization. Bonus if experienced in managing remote employees/team.
  • Excels at multitasking while maintaining a strong eye for detail and organization
  • Comfortable in a fast­-paced environment subject to ambiguity
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence others
  • Knowledge of coaching techniques such as Motivational Interviewing, SMART goal setting, assessing stages of change / readiness, etc.
  • Growth mindset
  • Understands coaching and collaborative healthcare environments
  • Familiarity with startup environments
  • Organized and process driven
  • Adaptable and comfortable with novel situations and change
  • Strong critical and creative thinker
  • Open to receiving and providing constructive feedback
  • Fluency in Google Suite

Preferred but not required:

  • Bilingual
  • Experience with triage and working within a team-based care model
