ABOUT THE VARO IT TEAM

We are looking for a IT Support Technician to join our small but mighty team. Varo is a great opportunity for candidates who want to work with great engineering and finance experts, have amazing aptitude to solve technical problems, enjoy collaboration, and helping others. Most of our employees are very technical and use a combination of Apple & Lenovo/Dell hardware. You will work with high-quality equipment and a talented team that will help usher Varo into the next phase of its maturity. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. Your goal will ultimately be to help ensure that our corporate IT infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A DESKTOP SUPPORT ENGINEER WHO WILL

  • Provide level 3 escalation support for helpdesk tickets
  • Installing and configuring software, hardware, and networks
  • Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues
  • Ensuring the security and efficiency of Varo’s corporate IT infrastructure
  • Install, configure software and hardware
  • Monitor performance and maintain systems according to specific security requirements
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages
  • Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls
  • Upgrade systems with new releases and models
  • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
  • Build an internal knowledge base with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES THAT'LL HELP YOU BE GREAT

  • Proven experience as a IT Support Technician, Desktop Support, or similar role
  • 1-4 years of experience with thin servers, Active Directory, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management using SCCM/Jamf/WSUS
  • 1-3 years experience in administration of AV/Malware Tools like Sophos, CarbonBlack, and CrowdStrike.
  • 1-3 years of experience administering macOS, Windows, iOS/Andriod Hardware
  • Administration of SaaS applications GSuite, FreshService, Jira/Confluence, Slack, OKTA, and MDM Software
  • Setup and support of shared company technical equipment - Printers, Conference room AV, Dashboard TVs
  • Willingness to work well as part of the team or independently as an SME for projects
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills

BONUS POINTS

  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
  • Ability to create scripts in Bash, Powershell, or other languages
  • Design, configure, and deployment of MDM Platforms (Jamf, Kandji, Airwatch, InTune, SmartDeploy)
  • Experience with HP Aruba Wireless Management
  • Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, implementation of policies and enforcement
