What is the Clinical Service Design and Operations role?

The Director of Clinical Service Design and Operations will lead the team responsible for the design, effectiveness and efficiency of our novel care approach. This person will bring a combination of rigorous operational excellence, deep understanding of clinical care, and strong people leadership. They should also have experience leveraging technology to help operational and clinical teams improve efficiency and quality. They will work as an integral liaison between the mental health services team and the platform/engineering team to create and execute the most innovative approaches to care. This person will report to our VP Mindstrong Health Services to ensure the highest level of validated, equitable and excellent care across all clinical operations activities.

What you'll be doing:

  • Design and refine the clinical playbooks for each integral service line (Psychiatry, Therapy, Care Partner, etc,) to fundamentally enhance our approach to complex, stepped care.
  • Influence the product design by contributing innovative ideas, assessing the suitability of product design and features to meet the needs of our members, and ensuring the quality of the product through rigorous testing.
  • Develop top-quality operations with clinical protocols rooted in the evidence-based practices and the measurement of care.Lead the team responsible for ensuring we deliver the highest quality care through development of clinical processes and tools to drive high adoption, while continuously measuring clinical quality and outcomes.
  • Work closely with our product and engineering teams to develop tools and technology to improve the quality of care delivery, clinical outcomes, and efficiency of operations teams
  • Coordinate closely with Clinical Leadership, Engineering and Product partners to effectively manage prioritization of change strategy, content creation and delivery across markets, and ensure the learning strategy is aligned with each team’s goals.
  • Define, execute, and manage towards key operational and clinical quality benchmarks
  • Improve reporting/analytics and operational workflows to support the efficient and equitable scaling of deployed interventions

Your background and skills:

  • Education: Master’s degree required; PhD preferred in mental health related field.
  • Work Experience: 10+ years of related experience working in clinical or collaborative care environments designing/utilizing complex quantitative designs in care.
  • High level of fluency and ability to integrate innovative, evidence-based treatment approaches, mindful of the implementation challenges for this SMI population.
  • Strong independent judgment, critical and analytical thinking, problem-solving and data- driven decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive to quality decisions with peers, teams, and leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage larger-scale, cross-functional strategic projects, activities and teams; effectively formulate strategies, tactics and action plans to achieve results, and continuously move the function forward.
  • Communication skills that display credibility and confidence
  • Experience with highly distributed workforces in a tech-enabled environment is a plus.
