Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.

In the Affirm app, we’re building a one-of-a-kind shopping marketplace - bringing together consumers and merchants with unbeatable offers and honest credit! As the Director of Marketplace Partnerships, you will lead, manage, and grow our merchant partnerships: building and encouraging relationships with leading online brands, driving revenue via new monetization programs, expanding through network/agency partners, and growing Affirm’s market position in this new space!

Your role directly impacts top-priority, company-wide goals, and will influence the long-term success of the organization. More importantly, you will help build this business line from the ground stage, requiring creativity, grit, influence, and an ability to navigate ambiguity.

What you’ll do:

  • Grow and lead our Marketplace Partnerships team and function across affiliate sales and account management with a large emphasis on culture, coaching/mentoring, and driving results
  • Lead affiliate merchant partnerships, defining a winning affiliate sales strategy to meet our ambitious growth goals and maturing our account management function from the ground up to grow performance and revenue for key merchant partnerships
  • Collaborate closely with our Point-of-Sale Sales and Client Success teams on account planning and sales strategy
  • Use affiliate/marketing networks to enable efficient growth (affiliate networks, agencies, and other marketing and e-commerce partners)
  • Identify, lead, and expand revenue-generating programs to expand monetization and deliver merchant performance
  • Refine our GTM (pricing, packaging, toolkit) to evolve with our product maturity, merchant impact, and market needs
  • Represent Affirm at industry conferences and events as the specialist on Affirm’s affiliate platform

What we look for:

  • A curious, ambitious leader with plenty of grit, analytical prowess, creative thinking, and initiative, who has a deep understanding of - and empathy for - our merchants’ needs
  • 10+ years of partnerships, business development, solution selling, management consulting, or strategic operations with a digital product
  • 2+ years of management experience with a strong interest in mentorship, coaching, and professional development
  • Must have experience in the retail and e-commerce landscape
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to establish relationships both internally and with senior decision-makers
  • Phenomenal teammate excited to work cross-functionally and build relationships
  • Seeks out new opportunities, drives projects, and navigates ambiguity with patience
