The Role

Zeus is looking for a Director of Real Estate Acquisitions to own and implement the strategy behind the Acquisitions side of our Real Estate Partnerships team. Real Estate is the most critical piece in our marketplace and the physical product upon which the Zeus infrastructure is built. This function is core to our ability to grow and succeed as an organization, as Zeus is dead set on becoming a leader in the real estate industry. You will be involved in continuing to build the team that ensures we get there by creating partnerships with the best and most meaningful real estate organizations in the world. We need an experienced sales or business development leader to optimize and improve our current processes and reach our daring property and headcount goals over the next two years.

As a leader of this organization, you will hire, train, and develop a group of salespeople in developing outreach strategies, sales pitches, underwriting best practices, and closing practices. Additionally, you’ll identify and close medium to large deals to drive revenue growth into our organization. This position will report directly to the CEO.

What You'll Do:

  • Devise a strategy and execution plan in order to reach our company Acquisitions goals which include multifamily and REIT partnerships and master lease opportunities
  • Build a industry-leading sales organization
  • Drive perfect pipeline management in Salesforce and Zeus' internal platform tool across the Acquisitions team
  • Work with your team's local reps to develop meaningful relationships with the world’s best real estate companies at the national, regional, and local levels
  • Instill confidence in all sales representatives and establish Zeus as the best place to work for real estate professionals
  • Experiment and optimize on our current sales process, learning from mistakes along the way to derive process improvements across the organization
  • Assist team in complex deals involving multiple executive-level stakeholders
  • Work cross-functionally with other organizations within Zeus, establishing clean handoff processes and fluid alignment
  • Quickly and efficiently scale our business to expand into new markets
  • Roll up your sleeves and ride along on sales calls
  • Hire, train and develop a real estate sales team that can create value and provide a top-notch experience for our prospective and existing customers
  • Coach all real estate professionals at Zeus on sales methodologies, working hand in hand with the team to understand how to nurture employee development
  • Provide strong mentorship to the Zeus team in all phases of the selling process, including helping close large, complex transactionsLead weekly sales meetings that teach, engage, educate and motivate your team and eventual team(s) to maximum performance
  • Listen to the needs of the market and share insights with product and marketing teams
  • Develop and implement best practices to maximize conversion rates, forecasting accuracy, and customer-centric engagement
  • Create reporting cadences, consumable by both your direct reports and executives

 

What We're Looking For:

  • 7-10 years of experience in sales or business development, focus on leasing, residential or commercial real estate a plus.
  • Understanding of real estate underwriting or ability to learn quickly from team members and become an authority.
  • Experience managing and developing high performing, early stage teams through significant scale.
  • Experience growing a sales organization from 5 to 50 at a rapid pace, including building sales training, onboarding, and commission plans in highly diverse sales organization.
  • Consistent track record of success against team quotas.
  • Passionate about process improvements, and able to see those through to completion.
  • Entrepreneurial mentality - think company first, then team, then self.
  • An authority at CRM management and other sales stack tools.
  • Self-starter who can own projects from start to finish with minimal guidance.
  • Self aware and understanding enough to ask for help when needed.
  • (BONUS) Pre-existing relationships with decision makers in key real estate companies.
