About the Role:

The Director Payer Relations brings a deep experience in health plan network operations. The individual will be responsible for supporting strategic partnerships with health plans, developing and nurturing relationships with key health plan stakeholders and managing all contract negotiations. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Build Payer Relations function within Ginger, including collaboration across departments and teams and alignment with financial goals
  • Develop strategy to drive strategic partnerships and maximize the value of health plan contracts
  • Negotiate in-network contracts on behalf of Ginger, including fee for service, value-based and / or other population health payment models
  • Drive end-to-end network contracting process, including plan for recontracting and renegotiation over contract lifecycle 
  • Bring market knowledge and expertise, combined with data insights, to drive negotiation and contract strategy 
  • Support Ginger's Revenue Cycle Management team in working with payer to resolve claims submission and payment issues and processes. 
  • Partner with health plan and employer teams to develop strategy to grow the number of in-network contracts, including client-specific networks 

Key Requirements

  • 8+ years of contracting and network experience 
  • Experience working with or within a health plan 
  • Health care provider contract operations, provider relations experience and/or health plan contracting experience 
  • Understanding of health plan network operations, billing, collections and payer network management 
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of results
