The Role: 

Carrot is seeking a Director of US and Canada Operations to join the Global Solutions team, and lead our US and Canada team and manage the regional operations. Our team enables our customers, multinational companies, and their employees to access a global fertility benefits program inclusive of financial coverage and support. Whether a Carrot member is pursuing IVF in the US, a gestational carrier journey in Canada, or egg freezing through cross-border reproductive care from China to the US, our team powers Carrot’s operational infrastructure to create a positive employer and employee experience, globally. As part of the Global Solutions team at Carrot, you will collaborate with regional counterparts. You’ll report to our Vice President of Global Solutions and support team growth to ensure regional developments, expansion, and scaling. 

We are looking for a results-oriented healthcare and operations leader with excellent communication skills and a passion to further Carrot’s mission of fertility care for all. As the Director of US and Canada Operations, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and developing a high performing team - Enabling the team to deliver on key initiatives aligned with company needs, and supporting their growth and development 
  • Planning and managing our regional operations - Prioritizing the most impactful initiatives and ongoing operational needs, building the roadmap to achieve results, evaluating success, and iterating as needed
  • Collaborating with internal and external leaders - Work with internal counterparts and cross-functional partners, as well as externally with local healthcare leaders and experts
  • Strategy and process creation - Identify opportunities to implement new strategies and processes that enable our team to be most efficient and effective at achieving our goals
  • Critical thinking and strategy  - Your critical thinking and strategy work will support initiatives in the region and help create frameworks through which we can evaluate different opportunities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA a bonus but not required
  • 10+ years of professional experience leading teams, managing and scaling operations, and working closely with healthcare providers, experts, and cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Enablement
    • Lead and develop a team of regional operators and operational leaders to be results-oriented, and provide individual and team development opportunities
    • Help to build out the operational infrastructure for the region and in partnership with other regional leaders to best support our global offering for our customers and members 
    • Act as the voice for the local regional operations
    • Set vision and objectives and key results (OKRs) for respective region aligned with company and department needs
  • Operational Excellence
    • Test and develop operating best practices, and strategically rolling them out to the team to effectively and efficiently serve our operations, while maintaining a great rapport with the team and addressing company needs
    • Serve as day-to-day contact for the respective regional team supporting escalations 
    • Identify repeatable strategies, playbooks, and processes to best operate in the region
    • Collaborate with team members to develop key operating metrics
