We are currently seeking a Manager of Disaster Recovery to join our team. The Manager of Disaster Recovery is responsible for all aspects of Zoom’s IT Disaster Recovery (DR) Management product. This leader must successfully prepare the business to recover critical business applications, data centers and facilities in the event of disaster that impacts IT computing assets.
They will provide overall oversight of design, implementation, and deployment of the DR product and work closely with global business units. They will coordinate with other risk functions to ensure an integrated approach to DR and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, executives, program participants and 3rd Party IT Service Providers across Zoom and secure organizational commitment for continued strategic and tactical support of the product.
This role is a key contributor in the management of service provider outcomes as Zoom interacts with multiple 3rd party service providers to deliver the optimal outcomes for Zoom. This role will manage relationships and coordinate activities with internal organizations and 3rd party providers to plan, test and execute disaster recovery procedures. This role will direct activities of 3rd party providers to ensure that regular updates are occurring to technology recovery standards and recovery plans compliant with our underlying quality commitments and that plans are exercised on a regular schedule to support our application management policies. They will also participate in the development of DR strategies, DR planning, impact assessments, testing and emergency responses in the event of an actual disaster.
This position reports to the Senior Manager of Business Resilience. The ideal candidate will be an expert in their field with a proven ability to design and implement a best-in-class resilience product worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Implement strategy to drive the development of technology recovery strategies, process improvements, automation, impact assessments, recovery planning and annual testing exercises to support the Zoom Disaster Recovery program.
Lead the development of best practices, effective processes and procedures for disaster recovery
Lead the implementation of a central repository of disaster recovery information, artifacts, plans, test results, contact lists and other critical information required to manage an adverse event
Manage relationships and coordinate activities with internal organizations and 3rd party providers and others to plan, exercise and execute disaster recovery procedures.
Direct activities of 3rd party providers to ensure that regular updates are occurring to technology recovery standards and recovery procedures compliant with our underlying quality commitments
Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure all established timelines are met using established processes and procedures
Establish methods to monitor adherence to Service Level Agreements and ensure DR plans are in place and exercised regularly to support Zoom application management policies
Take a leadership role as the Incident Manager in the management of emergency responses in the event of an actual disaster
Provide input to Information Security policies and procedures for disaster recovery
Partner with IT, Information Security and other organizational leaders to ensure awareness and compliance of disaster recovery processes and procedures as well as how they relate to other efforts
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree Information Systems or related field
8-10 years of total relevant work experience in public or private sector
Experience supporting BC/DR in a data center or critical infrastructure environment
Knowledge in IT Infrastructure support areas including but not limited to Storage, Database, Networks, Backups, Security and Operating Systems
Subject matter expertise in Technology Disaster Recovery best practices, methodologies, trends, tools, and issue identification
Professional certifications: CBCP or CBCI required (MBCP)
Ability to operate independently and balance priorities in a fast-paced environment
Broad understanding of critical infrastructure protection requirements and innovative mitigation tactics and applicable regulatory requirements
Demonstrated ability to communicate within all levels of an organization, including briefing executive management as well as technical and operational teams to drive moderately complex initiatives
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to synthesis complicated and technical risk and significant amounts of complex information into simple terms for executive-level communications
Ensures rigorous attention to detail in all work activities and products
Experience interfacing and collaborating with executives, peers, departments, regulatory agencies, and external clients to develop solutions and gain consensus
Experience conceptualizing and executing on numerous initiatives and balancing competing priorities
Fluency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Asana
