Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll is the world's most popular anime brand. We’re an international business focused on creating both online and offline experiences for anime fans, through content (licensed, co-produced, and originals), merchandise, events, gaming, news, and more.

About the Team

The Crunchyroll Expo (CRX) Event Director leads internal and external teams that produce Crunchyroll’s owned, original, large-scale convention event, designed to engage, delight, and increase the Japanese Anime fanbase. Our goal is to produce events that are not only timely and on budget, but that also resonate as authentic and inspiring.

The CRX Event Director is an important member of the larger events team at Crunchyroll. Events team productions, in addition to Crunchyroll Expo, include Crunchyroll Movie Nights, Crunchyroll Anime Awards, and Crunchyroll event installations, experiences and activations at other events.

We’re looking for a motivated, creative, experienced event professional to drive the success of Crunchyroll’s very own Crunchyroll Expo. Our goal is to deliver extraordinary, memorable events to the fanbase of the world’s most popular anime brand, and we need the right Event Director to help us reach that goal.

You’ll unite multiple teams, both internal and external, to deliver on goals that both super-serve our fans and meet our financial goals. You’ll work with the Head of Events and other team members to set and refine strategies, innovate solutions, and grow both Crunchyroll Expo and the Crunchyroll brand.

Extensive experience planning large- and small-scale consumer events is a must, as is an affinity for pop culture and a true affection for fans. Interest in and understanding of anime and anime culture is a plus, as well as experience working on anime events. Proven leadership, and experience directing complex relationships and events is required. If you have experience working with Japan and/or Japanese properties, that is helpful, but not required.

About The Role

As CRX Event Director, you will lead Crunchyroll Expo both internally and externally. Internally, you will lead collaborative contributions from teams including but not limited to marketing, audience development, brand management, design, brand and customer service. Externally, you’ll lead production and operational partners, all working toward our company goals for the show.
