YOUR MISSION

As a QA Manager, you will help grow our business by managing our Exploratory Testing team. This is a new team in the Engineering Organization, and as part of your job you’ll help define the process and organization of the team.

Your goals will be to:

  • Help MURAL identify quality issues (including but not limited to bugs, accessibility, usability and design) affecting our customers ability to operate the software for their most important needs
  • Ensure the team tests the product with the perspective of our customers, considering our user personas, frequently used devices, OSs and browsers and different levels of experience with the product
  • Leverage the domain knowledge and experience of our QA Engineers to identify those quality issues
  • Help the team produce accessible and actionable quality reports for the rest of the Product, Design and Engineering organization that help resolve the identified issues in a timely manner
  • As part of our Accessibility Statement, ensure we include the Accessibility lens in our exploratory testing projects

Your direct reports will be QA Engineers. You’ll work in collaboration with Product Managers, Designers, Engineering Managers, Customer Support and UX Researchers, and report to a Director of Engineering.

In this role, you will:

  • Work with the team and stakeholders to clarify the vision, mission and work process.
  • Create a collaborative environment with open and clear communication, providing support to every team member.
  • Provide clarity and thoughtful planning to help the team work towards a shared goal. 
  • Enable time to play in order to create a fun work environment and a space of trust.
  • Hire, coach, and mentor QA engineers based on the team and company’s objectives.
  • Nurture and develop the career progression of your direct reports.
  • Collaborate with People Operations/Human Resources to identify high performers, and provide recognition through promotions and bonuses.
  • Collaborate with the larger Product, Design and Engineering organization to build and maintain a stream of exploratory testing projects focused on product areas most important to our customers.
  • Plan and execute strategies to ensure the on-time delivery of exploratory testing projects.
  • Ensure the team delivers insightful, accessible and actionable reports to relevant stakeholders in the organization.
  • Ensure our hiring, onboarding, and training processes are continuously improved.

YOUR PROFILE

  • A MS/BS degree in Software Engineering or 5 years of proven experience in similar work 
  • 3+ years of experience working on highly interactive browser based graphical applications
  • Hands on quality assurance work for graphical applications, services or games
