About Carrot:

Carrot Fertility is the leading global fertility benefits provider for employers built to make fertility care and family-forming affordable and accessible for everyone who wants or needs it. Companies use Carrot to customize a fertility benefit that provides employees financial, medical, and emotional support as they pursue parenthood, reducing healthcare costs and resulting in better clinical outcomes.

The Role:

Carrot is seeking a Global Regulatory Operations Specialist to join the Global Regulatory Operations team, a part of Carrot’s Global Solutions department. Global Solutions enables Carrot customers (i.e. multinational employers) and their employees to access a global fertility benefits program inclusive of financial coverage, care navigation, and support.

The Global Regulatory Operations team researches and implements regulatory-related operating and project needs. This enables our customers, global multinational companies, and their employees to effectively navigate the local rules and regulations related to fertility and family forming. This includes but is not limited to compliance and taxability, navigating cross-border reproductive care, and the legal parentage implications of individual members’ fertility and family-forming journeys. Whether a member pursues IVF in Sweden, a gestational carrier journey in Canada, or egg freezing through cross-border reproductive care from China to the U.S., Global Regulatory Operations powers Carrot’s operational infrastructure to create a positive employer and employee experience.

As part of the Global Solutions department at Carrot, you will work closely with Global Solutions’ regional teams, as well as with other departments at Carrot. You will contribute to:

  • Cross-functional collaboration - Work with Global Solutions’ regional teams and local in-country representatives, external parties such as local attorneys or accounting firms, and other Carrot teams such as Legal Operations and Compliance to achieve department and company-wide objectives.
  • Process creation and implementation - Identify opportunities to implement new strategies and processes that enable the team to be most efficient and effective at achieving our goals.
  • Managing complex projects - You will lead and support regulatory-related projects that are core to the objectives of the Global Regulatory Operations team.
  • Researching and resolving problems - Work internally on country-specific legal research tasks to support Carrot members who are navigating complex pathways to parenthood, such as cross-border reproductive care.
  • International contracting -  Support Global Solutions’ regional teams as they partner with international providers to enable our members to access best-in-class fertility, adoption, and gestational carrier services around the world.
  • Maintaining regulatory understanding - Work with regional teams to organize complex and constantly changing information related to the legal and regulatory aspects of family forming around the world.

If you are excited about researching and evaluating complex legal issues related to fertility care, family-building services, and parentage, are sensitive to and aware of international complexities, are a strong communicator with internal teams and external stakeholders, and have a desire to assist individuals and couples as they bring children into their family, this may be the position for you.

The Team:

Carrot’s Global Solutions department is divided into regional and functional teams to manage our global operations. You will report directly to the Manager of Global Regulatory Operations. This is an exciting opportunity to be in a strategic, operational, and dynamic role at a rapidly growing company at the cutting edge of international fertility regulatory operations. You will work closely with the other teams in the Global Solutions department, as well as several other departments and individuals at Carrot.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years experience working in a consulting or legal function in transactional/contracting, regulatory, or public policy, with at least a partial international focus
  • Strengths in:
    • Global legal and regulatory research and problem-solving
    • Planning, managing, and efficiently completing multiple tasks and projects
    • Identifying patterns and solving complex problems
    • Serving as a subject matter expert on complex legal topics
    • Communicating complex information to an array of stakeholders
    • Creating processes and implementing changes while balancing competing interests
    • Working independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • International work experience and/or experience managing relationships with international stakeholders
  • Professional experience in healthcare, family-forming (e.g. adoption, assisted reproductive technology), and/or employee benefits
  • Empathy, awareness, and understanding of cultural sensitivities related to reproductive or other healthcare fields
  • L.L.B., J.D., L.L.M., M.P.P., or other legal or public policy international equivalent
  • Additional language fluency in French, Mandarin, Japanese, or Russian is a bonus but not necessary
